  • Peaceful Somerset escape at a family farm on the outskirts of Bath
  • Bath Racecourse five minutes’ drive and Bath Abbey 15 minutes
  • Off-grid site with showers; barbecue hut, sauna and hot tub all extra
Looking for a peaceful spot that’s handy for the historic sights of Bath? Off-grid Lansdown Campsite is set on a family farm in stunning countryside atop Lansdown Hill, with views over the city yet far enough away to be unaffected by its buzz. It’s also a clever choice if you’re weekending from London or Wales, as the site is only 15 minutes’ drive from Junction 18 of the M4. So what’s included with your stay? Modern showers and a washing-up area, drinking water and a communal firepit, which is lovely to cosy up around after days of exploration in Bath and Somerset. Luxurious amenities that come with an extra charge include a barbecue hut, sauna and hot tub. Dogs are more than welcome, and they can have a walk around the farm fields (please keep them on a lead). The site is right opposite Lansdown Park and Ride (catch Service 31 right into Bath city centre; it runs every 15 minutes), so you can abandon the car for the duration of your stay, and it’s also walking distance (around 20 minutes on foot) from Bath Racecourse and a couple of foodie pubs.

What customers say

Great base for Bath/Bristol w/ park & ride. Friendly owner, John. Fantastic, spacious, hot showers. Private pitches. Some road noise, initial "new" feel noted. Clean facilities, nice-smelling toilets. Slight tent pitch incline, basic wash-up.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Everything! John works SO hard to make sure everything is in order! Loved the back to nature feel and genuine care he shows for the wilding of the campsite. Sauna AMAZING! Will stay again. Location is super! Especially for car boot which is walking distance; lovely local feel and views- staggering; just across the road on free to access playing fields.

Disliked Just one more camping shower would make a huge difference.

From the manager: Thank you so much, it was a pleasure having you.
I am already looking on the market for a shower block. I was always intending to increase the showers I just did not realise I would need them so soon! 😅
All the best

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked 2 minute walk to the Park and Ride into Bath, friendly staff

Disliked Bit scrappy, random debris next to the entrance gate, toilets and showers weren't particularly clean, not enough showers, only 2 sinks to wash up in so always a queue

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Proximity to Bath and just outside the Park and Ride, which was every 15min and very reasonable. Site was quiet and secure. It had a clean toilet block and 2 showers. Good washing up building. We parked on the big field away from the road. Loved exploring Bath. John the owner was very responsive

Disliked If really busy may not have been enough showers however we had no problem and there was roughly around 15 -20 either tents or campervans/motorhomes
