  • Wild-style camping with stunning views over the Jurassic Coast
  • A 10-minute drive from Weymouth; 15 minutes to Isle of Portland
  • Footpath leading to the coast path; a short walk to pubs and amenities
Check out those views… True to its name, Seaview Farm is right on the Jurassic Coast, with stunning views out over Chesil Beach and the Fleet Lagoon. You could quite possibly sit and stare at those views for many hours here (and if you choose to do that, you may be pleased to know that you’re welcome to spark up a barbecue for cooking and keeping warm while you watch the sunset over the sea). Not content with sitting still? This is a cracking location for walkers in particular: footpaths lead off from the farm in all directions, including one that heads off down towards the South West Coast Path and beyond to the Isle of Portland. A supermarket, a clutch of takeaways and several pubs are within walking distance too. You could, in fact, ditch the car for much of your stay at this Dorset site: there’s a bus stop a short walk away for jaunts around the area by public transport. If you are driving, however, you can get to Weymouth town centre and beach with a journey of less than 10 minutes, to Durdle Door or West Bay in about half an hour, or inland to the Cerne Abbas Giant in a similar amount of time. This is a wild-style stay with pitches on a spacious and slightly sloping field accessed via a track. There are no electrical connections here, but guests will have access to water, regularly serviced portable toilets and showers.

What customers say

Spacious, basic site with stunning sea views and friendly owners. Generous pitches, generally clean portaloos/showers (some suggest updates). Campfires allowed. Near amenities/walks, but difficult waterside access. Peaceful, back-to-basics escape.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We loved our short stay with sea view farm! The view is absolutely amazing and definitely such a nice thing to wake up to. Love the option of being able to have a fire pit as not many places allow this.
Was lovely a quiet too, which is great when you have 2 young children.
We didn’t use the showers so can’t comment on those but the toilets were kept clean and tidy and stocked up with the necessary things you would need :)

Would definitely stay again in the future but for a longer period.

Disliked The track to get down on to the field is very bumpy and steep so just be aware when driving in the dark. Internet access is limited, more likely depends on the network but there is no WiFi. No option for an electric tent pitch (unless fully booked when we booked).

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We had a great stay at Seaview farm. Before arrival you will receive an email with an allocated pitch number which is easy to find. The pitches are huge! None of this pitching on top of one another. You truly do get your own space. The view is probably one of the best I've ever had at a campsite. That being said, and it should be pretty obvious, it's rather exposed so take decent pegs and be prepared for some wind. Pitch instructions suggest parking to the left of the pitch but I ended up parking the other side to try and create a wind break. That being said it wasn't windy all the time and our tent survived!
Facilities include numerous portable loos at 3 locations along the field. The owner came multiple times throughout the day, EVERY day to ensure they were clean. NO issues here. (If the owner reads this, I do believe the central portaloo flush is temperamental?). Showers were again of the portable type but the water was hot and it's private...perfect.
Washing up Facilities, blocks for raising camp fires, buckets, logs for sale etc. Everything you need.

Site is well positioned with a nearby supermarket, Starbucks and burger king a short walk away. Great transport links and if you choose to drive, everything is easy to get to.

Access to the coastal path was also great!

Added bonus - Ice cream van visits every night!!

No noise complaints, all settled by atleast 9pm.

Liked Fantastic views and huge pitches. Really easy to get to. Wonderful coastal walks.

Disliked The portaloos: whilst they were cleaned, it wasn't often enough.

Bell tent

Liked Good sized pitches… we were at the bottom of the field so right next to the sea which was absolutely beautiful. We were able to really relax and had a lovely walk along the path to Littlesea. There are lots of opportunities for walking from the campsite. All we could hear was the birds and the occasional cows in a neighbouring field.
We stayed in a bell tent which was clean, bright and spacious with comfy beds. It was lovely and warm at night.

Disliked The facilities were very basic - just portaloos and an open top shower! However, there were serviced regularly and were very clean and the shower water was nice and hot!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Beautiful big huge pitch and amazing sea estuary easy too find loved the ice cream van that was amazing at the end of the evening.

Disliked Didn’t like the portaloos or the shower area needs updating could’ve done with being cleaned morning and evening .Also I was on the pitch with lots of children which probably couldn’t be helped but I could’ve been out on a quieter side. I didn’t go to sleep till very late because they didn’t go to slept until late 2am then I was pleasantly woken up by another group leaving at 7 am .

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The pitch size was good and the view lovely, there was a very handy Aldi a few minutes walk away. The site is in a good location to walk the coast path and into Weymouth.

Disliked The disgusting toilets , showers and washing up sinks , overloaded bin spilling rubbish over the floor. Yes it’s a pop up site and it is Aug , school holidays and a busy time of year but the state of the facilities was not purely down to number of people using them, they needed a proper regular clean. We didn’t dare try the burger van with the standard of hygiene and cleanliness displayed .

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry you were disappointed with your stay. I do recall you sitting outside your tent on multiple occasions watching me cleaning toilets, refilling toilet rolls, swapping over the bins with the tractor and so on. So I'm disappointed you still left this review. I work hard to maintain the site and am very approachable so if you felt there was a problem you should of come and spoke to me.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Local attractions

You’re bound to want to explore the Dorset coastline a little further once you’ve spied the sea from the site, so set off for a stroll along the coast path or plot a course to Weymouth (10 minutes’ drive) to play on the sand or meet the marine creatures at the Sea Life Centre. A couple of Dorset’s main icons – Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door – are about half an hour away by car, but there are plenty of quieter corners around to visit too. If you’re keen to give your hiking boots a good workout, start with a wander around the Hardy Monument or explore trails in the Valley of Stones National Nature Reserve (both 10 minutes’ drive). Mix in a bit of history as you walk with outings to Portland Castle or Jordan Hill Roman Temple (both 15 minutes) or get up close to the Cerne Giant (half an hour). For more days out, try Abbotsbury (15 minutes) for the swannery and subtropical gardens or Dorchester (20 minutes) for the dinosaur and teddy bear museums and Maiden Castle fort.
