  • Family-run site a mile from the Jurassic Coast
  • Footpath leading to the South West Coast Path
  • Shop next door and pubs within walking distance
Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

What customers say

A friendly, budget-friendly campground with a relaxed vibe in a beautiful rural setting. Guests love the freedom to pick their spot, spacious grounds, and great value. Basic, clean facilities. On-site shop & proximity to attractions like coastal paths & Weymouth are big pluses. Some mention traffic noise & basic showers, but it's a great base for exploring.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked I liked the laid back vibe, open spaces and excellent price. The little pop up shop that the owners put on everyday is super useful. You can choose your pitch and take up as much space as you need. Owners are very nice and helpful.

Disliked I didn’t dislike anything, but the showers could be more powerful and warm water to wash up would be nice, but this is definitely reflected in the price, so I was happy! You can hear the road a bit but it’s not very busy at night, I was positioned on the closer side to the road also. Over all loved and it and would definitely return!!

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Back to basics camping. Excellent relaxed site just arrive find a spot you like and pitch or park. Toilet block and showers simple and may not be the most powerful but hot. Great place to unwind and relax. Caravan near entrance opens in the morning and evening with basic items and games for the children. Just a simple way to do things. Excellent loved it.

Local attractions

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
