  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful.
We didnt use the bar & restaurant so can't comment on that.
The site was well kept, clean and tidy.
We liked being able to access the South West coast path directly from the site.

Disliked: We were on a noisy pitch, in front of the shop and restaurant/bar, with service vehicles arriving from quite early and continuing throughout the day.
The worst aspect overall was the lack of sufficient motorhome service points. There was no service point in our field, and it was quite a long detour to get to the one in the adjacent field. Even that wasn't a dedicated space, there was no pull off from the road which meant that other vehicles couldn't pass without driving through other pitches.

Overall a very clean site and one we will definitely come back to.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: Pitch was perfect, little bit of a slope but not enough to be a problem.
Shop was perfect and had everything you could want if you forgot something as we did (dustpan and brush).
Staff were very accomodating and offered us a range of pitches for us to choose from but we chose to keep or initial pitch.

As site wardens ourself we always have a few things to look at such as, bathroom, showers, toilets, wash areas and toilet disposable places and we were very happy with every aspect.

The newer block of washrooms were clean, smelled nice and toilets were clean.

Sizes of the pitches were nice.

Disliked: Price of a pint which is the same at most places.

The music in the toilets all night with doors left open is annoying.

WiFi isn't great but it is a campsite so to be expected, put your phone down and have fun as a family instead

Again a personal thing hedges could be tidied a little on top but they do a job very well.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
