Lovely stay, will definitely return
Powered grass campsite
Liked Lovely site, well positioned, very clean and ample facilities, great shop and staff were so very very nice
Disliked Our particular plot was near bins and water tap and many inconsiderate fellow campers dumping rubbish very very late or very very early disturbed our stay, bins should be relocated in my opinion as it’s not just our plot that would have been affected
Great large site with onsite amenities for all the family.
Powered grass campsite
Liked What a wonderful site, plenty of space. Friendly staff from check in to the moment we left. Clean shower and toilet blocks. Great site bar and restaurant, although we didn’t eat there. Entertainment in the Saturday night, live singer. Short walk to the end of the lane 15 minutes to the regular buses into Weymouth. Will be back 😁
Electric tent pitches seem to get the better review - Don't be put off
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked Having read almost all the reviews which are fairly balanced in the comments, we had a lovely stay.
The pitches are a good size and larger tents can be pitched on the side which is great.
Slight slant as many people have moaned about but you'd just adjust the tent so you are the best way to sleep.
Each section is separated by hedges which gives decent privacy.
Lots of others complained about the lack of toilets but there's two blocks.
Not obvious if you only only see the shower block.
The shop is well stocked and not overly expensive.
The bar was good and the food was too.. Lots of negative comments on the food but we thought it was good.
Cost wise - Totally depends on where you have come from to visit.
Optional late checkout is AMAZING!
£6 for a 1430 checkout
Option for a 6pm checkout.
Standard checkout is 1030.
We'd probably come back although the pricing increase a fair bit on the popular months.
Looking at the reviews and now mine, I think the majority of the electric tent pitches give positive feedback because you're out the way of the park, toilets, washing up area, showers etc etc.
We did hear a shouting match between two tough guys and we suspect it was about yappy dogs!
Which there was a few this weekend (12-14 July 2025)
Lovely walks close by and you're surrounded by farm land.
Who wouldn't like that.
Disliked Nothing to dislike really.
Very nice, clean and well organised site with good facilities
Powered grass campsite
Liked Well organised site, easy check in, helpful staff, good modern facilities and a well stocked shop.
Disliked Whilst most of what we ate at the pub was good pub food, we did have overcooked hunters chicken (chips were lovely though).
Disappointing . . . I really wanted to like the place
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Site condition and facilities. Generous pitch size. Weather was awesome! Walked down the SW Coastal Path to Portland, with a pit stop at Billy Winters!
Disliked We were pitched right next to the Kids Play Park - a bit unfair for a middle aged couple and dog to have to put up with that. Also, phone signal and onsite wifi were both rubbish.
Biggest dislike by a mile. There was an incident on the Friday night where our neighbour's dog (a black staffie), off lead and unprovoked, attacked another dog who was on lead and walking by. It sounded vicious and very unpleasant. The poor dog was terrified, and I think injured. The owner was quite rightly furious.
Site Security attended. Firstly, the staffie owners (Eastern Europeans, possible Russian) should have been asked to leave site at the earliest opportunity, but worse, the Security bloke wasn't impartial, took the side of the aggressors, calling the other dog owner names. A few other 'regulars' joined in on that as well.
Now, the 'victim' didn't respond well - lots of shouting and swearing, and may well be what the bloke called him after all. But it was, as I say, an unprovoked attacked by an off lead dog. Which should not happen!! Very poorly handled!
My wife and I are former licencees, and I have a military background, so we've dealt with these kind of situations many times. Impartiality is key. All I saw was an unprofessional shambles.
As such . . . I don't think we'll be back
Had a good stay although it was only for two nights, Would recomend!

Powered grass tent campsite
Liked Very friendly staff - was given a very friendly welcome to the site. Super clean site facilities and a nice big pitch. Lovely bar and the food is excellent.
Disliked Overall we enjoyed our stay but did have one minor grumble - dogs !! ...we are dog owners ourselves but we didn't bring ours. Although we saw that the vast majority of people had well behaved dogs - however some owners were letting their dogs bark incessantly at everyone and everything. Grumble over 😁
Excellent site, spacious pitches, clean facilities, top service
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The customer service.
The large pitches.
The well stocked shop with delicious freshly baked bread & pastries every morning.
The clean facilities.
The "quiet hours".
Disliked Nothing.
