Electric gravel touring pitch
Fully serviced

  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

What customers say

This top-rated campsite boasts clean, spacious showers and friendly staff. Enjoy the well-stocked shop and beautiful coastal walks. Most pitches are spacious, though some noted Wi-Fi issues and sloped sites. Occasional playground noise and peak-time toilet cleanliness concerns were mentioned.

Liked Location

Friendly staff

Disliked Expensive shop (£3.65 for a bottle of ale is very expensive)
WiFi not good - though showed 3 bars, wouldn’t hold connectivity (was very frustrating)
Noisy
Poor accessibility for a tow-a-car at pitch from the stable field.

Liked Our position in the field, the restaurant and the shop.
Very friendly staff.

Disliked Not enough showers by a long way. We couldn’t get Wi-Fi as we were too far up the field.
Considering the price we shouldn’t have to queue for a shower.

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice pitch, great staff, very good clean toilet blocks with plenty of toilets even for a very full site no waiting, nice restaurant and barn for entertainment.

Disliked Pitches all require some form of leveling, entertainment only on every other night and barn only open when entertainment on.

Liked Tidy, clean as much as possible, friendly staff. Location was good as not far from Weymouth. Local Aldi/greggs/starbucks near by.
Pub on site with entertainment a few nights a week.

Disliked Not level pitches, but most campgrounds are like this.
There were many toilets and always some available however they were a bit of a squeeze when you have a toddler with you, again no different to other public loos.

Liked Large spacious pitches, dog friendly in the barn & pub

Disliked Shower & toilets are filthy, kids running around all hours of the night, people very rowdy even after 11pm, no entertainment for the kids even though states "child friendly", not enough poo bins, staff are very rude! Wifi non existant.

Liked Gorgeous site! Very well laid out. Lovely helpful staff and can tell it's very well maintained! Toilets/shower blocks are clean but could possibly do with some mats in the actual shower (my daughter slipped 3 times and hurt herself during 1 shower stint!) Great entertainment hub (The Barn) with activities and live music every other night!

Disliked Quiet time was supposed to be 11pm but numerous nights in our stay older kids were messing about on the park being very loud and disruptive. Maybe could do with higher fences around the park so when the kids are asked to leave at dusk, they cannot just go back on as they please!

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
