Fabulous little gem of a camp site
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Loved it that much that we came back the next weekend also (with our 7month daughter in tow). Very much enjoyed the relaxation and freedom to pitch where you like. Eco loos surprisingly not what I expected, great facilities . Fab location, close to Corfe, swanage and studland. We enjoyed a meal at the pub opposite the campsite, a nice little walk.
Disliked Nothing at all.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Location is great to explore Dorset, set in heathland and very close to corfe castle. Great that the check in and check out times were flexible. Looks like there is a lovely cafe on the grounds.
Disliked Not enough toilets as had to queue in the rain for the two toilets with showers every time. Other option is the eco long drop toilets with no sinks, not for everyone! I would come back if there was a bigger toilet block, however currently it's not suitable if you have any urologly conditions or are of a certain age!

From the manager: Hi,
We are a small pop up site with 6 toilets and 4 showers. Admittedly, 4 of them are long drops but we are a back to nature basic site - not a commercial site - so very difficult to get planning for more than we have. Simple camping which most people love as our reviews confirm. It does suit most people who want a basic rural setting, but not everyone who need a bit more. The cafe offering food and coffee is a positive addition. We hope to see you again sometime.
Have a great end of summer.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Perfectly located for exploring Dorset countryside and coastline. Cafe onsite and good views of the heathland from the site. Campers were all friendly and respectful.
Disliked Not enough toilets, only two for our field with about 25 campers plus it looked like people from the cafe were using the two toilets. Each one contained a shower so as soon as someone was taking a shower they weren't free for a good 20 mins. Queued every time and unfortunately at 8am rush hour no toilets available including the long drops. It would be a lovely site if there was a full toilet block.

From the manager: We have six toilets (including long drops) which is usually sufficient. Sorry if you had to wait but this is quite unusual.
Hope to see you again.
Fantastic - several stays here and will keep coming back!

Fantastic site, lovely pitches and great facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We had a lovely stay. The campsite is beautiful and has good facilities.
We had the rare experience of camping in hot sunny weather 😁
Disliked There could be more charging points for mobile phones as there are no electrical hookups.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We are a simple back to basics site with a cafe to provide food, coffee etc. We do have a charging point next to the cafe to charge phones any time. We don't provide hookups as we are for tents and small campervans only. I'm glad you had a lovely time with the bonus of our great summer and hope to see you again.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely setting surrounded by countryside and heathland. You can watch the sunset every night. Easy to find and good facilities. I loved that there was horses and dogs around.
Disliked There was a festival 2 fields over which was noisy but it stopped around 11.30pm. Would have been okay if I’d had a ticket! 😂

From the manager: Hi Isobel,
Glad you had a lovely time - sorry about the festival a couple of fields away which we had no notice of - I had to stick my ear plugs in too for that one but it is very rare.
Hope to see you again.

Fantastic spot, super relaxed atmosphere we will be back!
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked This was the most relaxed and friendly campsite we’ve ever stayed at. All the owners are lovely and super helpful if you need anything, delicious homemade breakfast sandwiches were a bonus after a morning run. The surrounding area is stunning and Camp Hartland was a perfect base camp for exploring the wider area
Disliked Very slight noise from road however this really does drop a night and other than the occasional motorbike didn’t bother us at all
