What customers say

This family-friendly campsite gets high marks for its prime location, spotless facilities, and welcoming staff. Sites are usually roomy and kept up well. Guests rave about the awesome playground, soft play barn, and nearby conveniences. Most visitors loved their stay and plan to come back, though a few noted dated facilities, occasional road noise, and inconsistent shower water pressure. A solid choice, especially for families.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Good Facilities. Plenty to keep the children occupied with playpark and space to cycle.

Disliked Pitches bit close together and cars have to be parked in front of pitch, making getting in/out difficult and restricts socialising with other campers.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Shower/toilet block was clean (as much as can be with multiple people, grass and mud). Good washing up facilities. Kids loved the park - lots of different equipment to use. Ice pack freezing very handy although we found the last night it didn't freeze as someone left the lid of the freezer ajar. Nice spacious pitch, when you give your tent dimensions I think this helps to choose a pitch as some were much smaller than ours.
Campsite very easy to find and located close to local Lidl and Sainsbury's. Close to Bournemouth beach and Farmer Palmer's

Disliked Location of pitch. Unfortunately we have 3 young children 2,4 and 8 and our pith was right next to a river with short river bank. It was quite stressful making sure the children didn't go near the edge which of course they wanted to. We used the tent sideways and the car to block as much as possible. I'd have thought looking at our booking and the 3 children we'd have been placed a little further away.
The roads around the campsite are very narrow and when it's busy you have to just hope you don't meet an oncoming car.
Campsite not close enough to walk into the new forest but it's a short 10 mins drive to the edge.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Ideal location for south coast family activities.

Family site with clean facilities.

Quite time adhered too.

The site felt safe so the children could go off and socialise in the evening, up until the park closure time.

We had a beautiful pitch next to a stream.

Disliked Road noise was non-stop.

Love a campsite that allows dogs but some other campers allowed dogs to bark and even saw a dog poo bag chucked into the stream. - No fault of the campsite

Powered grass campsite

Liked Onsite facilities including large play area and soft play included. Walking distance to local supermarkets, pubs and the golden arches. Food trucks a nice touch. Short drive to New Forest.

Disliked Minor bits, no way to adjust shower temperatures so kids complained too hot.

Powered grass campsite

Liked How helpful they were when first arrived

Disliked Pitches far to small and not level, infestation of ants, showers/ toilets only cleaned on a weekend, didn't see anyone clean during week, gates locked at 23.00hrs so couldnt access campsite after this time, when barriers meant to be reg recognition.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Its a lively site with lots of people and families. Access to pay area and play barn was amazing for our 14mnth old. Cows in the back field grazing was cool and being able to walk to restaurants and shop was really handy and good location for visiting New Forest, Poole and Bournemouth

Disliked Toilets/showers very basic and abit of a walk if staying in the back field. Management of plots could have been better as we were put in a drive way through to the end of the field which wasn't ideal but then on night 3 (we stayed 4 nights) everyone else left our field and 1 arrival came, who was put in the pitch directly opposite. Very odd considering the amount of other space available and it made the drive through even tighter, not ideal for kids.

Liked Excellent pitches, showers, toilets, electric hook up. Friendly staff, area clean & safe with shops, Lidl, Greggs & McDonald’s very near.
We had a wonderful stay.

Disliked Next to a busy road so some traffic noise but it’s not overwhelming and would not put us off.

Local attractions

St Leonards Farm is one of the closest sites to Bournemouth, with sandy beaches only seven miles away. There’s loads to do nearby if you’re feeling full of beans – try watersports such as windsurfing, sailing or surfing at Bournemouth’s artificial reef, or get busy with some go-karting, dry slope skiing, golf, fishing or horse-riding in the scenic surrounding countryside. Feeling a bit tired after all that sporty exertion? Take a picnic to nearby Moors Valley Country Park, which has a golf course, cycling routes and outdoor play area, or have a family day out at a plethora of local attractions including Paultons Park, Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Wimborne Minster Model Town. Kids will likely enjoy fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, and if they’re disappointed by not finding a T-rex skeleton right there and then, you can take them along to the Dinosaur Museum at Dorchester, then spoil them with a day out at Adventure Wonderland less than three miles from the park. The site is also an ideal stopover point for the Poole or Portsmouth cross-channel ferries.
