Small really is best at Valley View Farm, five minutes’ drive from the sleepy rural hamlet of Ashreigney in Devon. This is a simple pop-up site for caravans and motorhomes set on a working farm with far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Level grass pitches have electric hook-ups on request, and there’s easy turning access into the site from the country road. You can meet-and-greet with the pedigree cattle in the surrounding fields, and while any accompanying dogs are more than welcome on site, please keep them under control around the livestock. There are numerous bridleways and footpaths through woodland and valleys straight from the pitches for exercising your pets (and yourselves, of course). Alternatively, just half an hour’s drive takes you to walking or cycling in Dartmoor National Park. Barbecues are permitted at Valley View Farm, but you’ll need to bring all your own gear. If you don’t feel like cooking, there are pubs and takeaways in nearby Chulmleigh (10 minutes’ drive). Please note: there are no on-site toilets or showers available, so you must be able to use your own facilities. However, waste water can be dealt with.
