  • Dog-friendly Devon site near Loddiswell and Middle Avon Valley
  • A 20-minute drive from several beaches and half an hour from Totnes
  • Walks accessible from the site and cafés nearby
It’s beaches and walks galore from Cottage Farm Camping just outside the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On the edge of Loddiswell, this easily accessible site is 20 minutes’ drive away from a reel of beaches, including Bigbury on Sea, South Milton Sands, Hope Cove and Mothecombe. There are a fair few golf courses and National Trust properties in the local area. Plus, with Kingsbridge 10 minutes’ drive away and Plymouth 40 minutes’ drive away, town life isn’t too far either – a great situation for things like restaurants, cafés, shopping and the likes (not forgetting seafood in Salcombe, 20 minutes’ drive away). Those of you who are fans of walking will have a good run of Dartmoor National Park’s moors, 20 minutes’ drive away, or the splendid walks along the river Avon that are accessible on foot from the site and run through the AONB. There are a number of local cafés which have stunning views of the surrounding countryside too. The site itself has large and level-grounded pitches with plenty of space for groups or for dogs (on leads) to sit with you. The facilities at your disposal include compost toilets, an LPG gas shower available for an additional cost and a washing-up station.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked My little boy liked the fact there was a football goal there so could play some football. The toilets were clean.

Disliked The area for camping. The grass had just been cut, but without collecting the cuttings, so after the rain and when wet, the cuttings did tend to stick to stuff.

Excellent site, would defo go back

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Cottage Farm Camping was a lovely site - incredibly peaceful with beautiful sky views. It was lovely to be in a quiet site to clear our heads, and a great location to be able to travel to nearby destinations, including the beach. Rob was an attentive host and other campers were friendly. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to be back! Thanks to the family for having us.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The field was flat with soft grass, the pitches lined with a hedge offering privacy.

Fantastic views, sunrise was spectacular and the open sky at night was incredible for star watching.

The hosts were thoughtful and friendly, the loos clean and fresh (compost) and shower lovely and big - the water was hot!

They made recycling possible which was appreciated.

Disliked A small amount of road noise mainly at rush hour.
