What customers say

This is a clean, well-maintained, and friendly campsite in a great location, a short walk from Exmouth beach and coastal paths. Visitors frequently praise the excellent, modern toilet and shower facilities, spacious and private spots, and the helpful staff. Despite a few mentions of a nearby sewage smell or narrow access lanes, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (maximum 7 metres)

Liked Pitch size. Location - a 20-25 minute stroll to the beach.
Quiet after 11pm.

Disliked Proximity to sewerage plant and the stench that it gives off.
Cleanliness of toilet/shower facilities.
Noise from 7am from families with uncontrolled children.
Felt very much like, pay over the odds, turn up and sort yourself out, no engagement and friendly support from any staff, then leave.

Powered grass campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Prattshayes campsite in our campervan. The site was well run, all the facilities were New kept clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly.
We went in August and as an older couple with just our dog, we were expecting it to be a bit overly busy with it being main school holidays, fortunately this was not the case, despite the site being fairly full, it never felt overcrowded.
We enjoyed our first visit to Exmouth, the beach is just at the bottom of the campsite lane about 20 mins walk. Dogs can go on either end of the beach but not the middle section, the end where the cliffs are is best suited to dogs.
,

Disliked In some areas of the site the pitches are sloping, so you will likely need to take levellers for caravans and motorhomes, but you can make special requests on the sites booking form which they will do their best to honour.
The showers water pressure was fairly low, but this could be due to being peak season usage.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite (maximum 7 metres)

Liked Lovely quiet location not too far from the sea front. Nice big pitches, we had a non electric pitch 308 which was flat, great views too. The reception is the bar and shop too which offered the essentials ie milk bread butter etc. lovely warm welcome and the toilets and showers block is ultra clean and the hot water is plentiful. Nice pub 10 min walk down the lane, take a torch 🔦 if it’s late on.

Maximum 7.5 meters powered grass campsite

Liked Nice large pitches, but tight to get car and caravan round corner into correct area, but ok. Nice simple arrival with map and pitch very good

Disliked Difficult tight lanes, recognised route on website would be useful. Cafe bar with choices of what’s available would have been good, price but it was august

Liked We feld really relaxed at this campsite, the mood was realy warm. The surroundings of the campsite feld very natural and the view was stunning. We had a nice spot to put our tent. Maximum 7.5 meters powered grass campsite

Liked Loved the site, very clean and well cared for. Staff were very friendly. Great pitch, well spaced. Little genuine fowl running around. We will book to return.

Disliked Small lane going in with the caravan, although the site gave good directions to make sure we used the best route in. Satnav really not useful for directions to this site.

Local attractions

Start your stay at Prattshayes Campsite by sticking close to site, as there’s loads nearby to keep you (and the whole fam) busy. Head into Exmouth for the Exmouth Museum, then venture a little further out for the World of Country Life park, Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens and the weird and wonderful 16-sided National Trust property A la Ronde, all less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. A la Ronde whetting your appetite for history and stately piles? Fab Powderham Castle is just over half an hour from Prattshayes Campsite, and is open for tours and lots of special events. If that’s still not quite enough, the museums, underground passages and cathedral of Exeter (worth a visit for shopping and food too) are also a little over half an hour from the site. If you have kids in tow starting to protest about the walk down (centuries-old) memory lane, there’s oodles nearby to get them back on side… Start 20 minutes away with some go-karting to blow off steam, get their adrenaline pumping on the rides at Crealy Adventure Park (25 minutes), then pile them into the car for a jaunt to Paignton Zoo, less than an hour away.
