  • 14 acres of greenery a short distance from the north Cornish coast
  • A 15-minute drive from Portreath beach and half an hour from St Ives
  • Indoor pool (high season only), games room and dog exercise paddock
Wake up to an unruffled vista of gentle hills and cobalt seas at Lanyon Holiday Park, which offers 14 acres of generously proportioned grass pitches. Site facilities are great: you can wallow for hours – free of charge, between April and September – in the toasty indoor swimming pool; the games room is open all day for TV, pool and video games; the kids can bounce themselves silly on the sizeable trampoline in the play park; and they’ve even thought of the dog, with a roomy exercise paddock for campsite canines (although there are no end of gorgeous walks in the countryside surrounding Lanyon, too). There’s no need to stress about the essentials, either. It’s all here: fridges and freezers, ample free hot water everywhere on site, hairdryers to keep your barnet looking tiptop, and oodles of washing machines, rotary and tumble dryers, and a free ironing kit.

Gold powered grass campsite

Liked: This site is beautiful, the pitches are nice and big, the staff very friendly. Shower and toilet blocks very clean and lovely 2 of the showers are disabled friendly which helped.
The on site swimming pool is great nice and warm. We didn't use the games room, or the dog walk this time but we will take our dog next time we visit.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike!

Gold powered grass campsite

Liked: The size of the pitches,
Clean facilities,
Swimming pool and park on site.
Walking distance to a pub
Good dog exercising area

Disliked: Limited space for children to play near to caravan
Not a lot to do for families in Redruth, but we were happy to travel and visit nearby towns and attractions.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the review - we are glad that you liked the size of our pitches and facilities onsite. We are just a couple of miles off of the A30 and equally distanced between the North and South coasts of Cornwall so a great spot for getting to see a lot of beautiful areas without having to travel too far.

We hope to see you & your family again in the future :)

Bronze primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Facilities are great

Disliked: They need to reopen bar more indoor space would be nice.

From the manager: Thanks for your review Ashley :) rather than seasonally compete with local businesses we choose to support them. We have 3 pubs within walking distance from the holiday park and other businesses including cafes and local shops close by too!

Gold powered grass campsite

Liked: - Owl area facilities were good & clean.
- Felt safe

Disliked: - We were allocated the worst “hedged” area (paid for gold) in the Owl area. It was not very private as the hedges were small. The pitch size was definitely smaller than others.
- Lack of directions to find the pitch

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your review - we are glad that you found our facilities to be clean & you felt safe during your stay.

We give customers a map on arrival to lead you to your pitch but members of staff can be contacted by phone if you are uncertain where you're going or to discuss pitch options.

Silver primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked: Easy to check in I had a very spacious pitch the toilets showers washing up areas & a washing machine plus tumble dryers was an absolute bonus were all immaculate & cleaned regularly throughout the day the staff were friendly & the pool was an added bonus for the price I paid this campsite is up there on my favourites list & I will definitely be back

Disliked: Nothing really to dislike however I turned up with no change for the washing machines so had to go a mile & a half to get change so possibly a facility to do a transfer for some change just to make it even better

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the great review Nicola, it is great to know that you were happy with our facilities and found them to all be immaculate.

For future visits - we have a change machine in our games room! You could have also call us on the number given to you on arrival and we would have been happy to sort you out with some change.

Local attractions

Leaving Lanyon, it will take a mere 10 minutes in your trusty automobile to arrive at acres of golden sand. Surfers will think they have dived and gone to heaven: Portreath, on the doorstep, is not to be sneezed at, but a few miles further they’ll find arguably the best surfing in Britain, on the beaches of Newquay. Art lovers will enjoy a trip to the Tate at St Ives, followed by a meander through the narrow streets that pack the hillside behind the sweep of the bay. Also within a short drive are the biospheres of the Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth. Travel a little further and you can make throngs of finny friends at the aquarium in Plymouth.
