  • Friendly family-run Cornwall farm site 20 minutes' drive from Newquay
  • Take a bus or a five-minute drive to Padstow and its stunning beach
  • Food served mornings and evenings; secure dog walking field available
You’ll have a tough time choosing between Cornish ice cream and fish and chips when you touch down at Padstow View Campsite in Cornwall. Pitch up at a peaceful farm site with estuary views… and use it as your gateway to sandy beaches, harbour towns and the Cornish countryside. Within a short bus journey or five-minute drive of Padstow (and also within walking distance), this friendly site welcomes families and dogs (with an exclusive-use dog-walking field for the latter). It's also only a 20-minute drive from Newquay. The showers on site will help rinse away any sand picked up visiting the seven bays within 10 minutes’ drive (including Trevone Bay, Constantine Bay, Porthcothan Bay, Treyarnon Bay, Booby’s Bay, Mother Ivy’s Bay and Harlyn Bay); there are toilets and a washing-up area on site for guests' use as well. Phone charging lockers are available for powering your gadgets (with wifi available and a decent 4G signal too), and there are plugs on hand for small appliances like hairdryers. When not at the beach, while away your day hiking or cycling around the country trails and coastal paths. Walk directly to Padstow or catch a regular bus from the site. In Padstow, boats are on hand for angling or beach hopping and Rick Stein’s famous seafood recipes can be sampled at several restaurants. Good day out at sea? Bring your catch back to the site, where barbecues are allowed. There's a shop on site with essentials and delicious food is served every night on site. On the morning menu are fresh coffee, cakes and fresh locally sourced bacon rolls. Handily, there are also several pubs and restaurants (including a dog-friendly pick) within a five-minute drive and a farm shop a couple of minutes' drive away.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We had a wonderful experience. Everything was spotless clean and organised. Judith and her team made us feel at home with their positive attitude, flexibility and sense of humour. Having a freezer for your ice packs, phone charging locks and delicious food available was a plus, specially the pizzas at night time. You can also rent a fire pit/ barbecue. No noise after 10pm was great as well. Highly recommended 🤩

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely view, great facilities, nice friendly owner and staff. Padstow View is a great location to explore Cornwall from. It's a short drive to to Padstow and New Quay. Everything you might need is on sale at the shop or cafe. There is a supermarket just down the road and two pubs within about 15 mins walk.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The owner of this campsite is a lovely lady who is there from 7-9 everyday. There is nothing she can’t handle and brings a beautiful energy to the place. The facilities were clean and spacious. There is a coffee and breakfast van there in the mornings and a pizza van in the evenings, and a shop for any kind of forgotten bits. Just overall a lovely campsite with a lovely vibe.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Easy going campsite, pick your own pitch, facilities very clean and well maintained throughout the day. Coffee and brekkie wagon was exceptional providing bacon rolls, pancakes, tea, matcha lattes and more. The pizza van in the evening was even better! Again loads more options to.
Owners and staff super friendly and will do anything to make your stay a great one.
1 hours walk to Padstow (have to walk down the main road for 10mins first which is a little hairy but doable. Only WiFi access at top of campsite near toilets and showers (didn’t bother me but may bother some)

Disliked Nothing at all

Local attractions

Don’t forget to pack your walking gear… the 18-mile Camel Trail begins in Padstow or Wadebridge (both within 10 minutes’ drive) and there are trails all over the local heritage coast (several within 15 minutes) or a different type of adventure underground at Carnglaze Caverns (40 minutes). The sea is your playground here, too. Boats wait at Padstow Harbour (five minutes) to whisk you out to sea for angling or wildlife spotting… keep your eyes peeled for seals, dolphins, puffins and basking sharks. A ferry can also take you across the river to Rock (otherwise 25 minutes’ drive) for a laidback afternoon. Kids are likely to enjoy the steam railway ride at Lappa Valley (25 minutes) or the animals and rides at Camel Creek Adventure Park (five minutes). As for adults, they can unwind with a meal or wine tasting at Trevibban Mill Vineyard or take a gin tour at Tarquins distillery (both five minutes away). Upgrade from a bodyboard to a surfboard at one of several surfing spots in the area. For newbies, there’s a surf school at Harlyn Bay (10 minutes) or more daring swells at Newquay (20 minutes) and Fistral Beach (30 minutes).
