Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked: Absolutley amazed with the cleanliness off the site , we staying in pod village and the pods were immaculate as well as everywhere else. The staff were so friendly and helpful , was an amazing environment to be in and we will definitely be back!

Disliked: The only thing I will say is that I would’ve liked a restaurant/bar but other than that everything was perfect.

Camping pod

Liked: Clean, friendly and spacious pitches (we stayed in a glamping pod). It was quiet, we travelled in October so may be due to being out of season. Beautiful surroundings so I can imagine how gorgeous the area would be when sunny.
I called a few times before I stay as I had a few questions and the staff that took each phone call were really helpful.

I would stay here again with a head lamp in a lodge and a few films downloaded on the iPad to watch in the evenings.

Disliked: No lights on the park so when we took a walk in the evenings we couldn’t see, we travelled in October and as it gets dark early which meant we didn’t explore as much as I’d have liked. Take a head lamp! We didn’t on this occasion as we weren’t camping in a tent.
Sofa bed wasn’t long enough for our children (7YO & 11YO) so keep this is mind
Smart TV is only your standard channels, no access to log into Netflix or Prime.
Had to pay for WiFi and when I tried to purchase (7.99 for 24hrs) the purchase was unsuccessful.

Camping pod

Liked: Really lovely pod. Warm and cosy and had all amenities required. Reception phoned to let us know it was ready early and heating had been put on ready for our arrival. Pod was clean and has own parking space. Bed was really comfortable and really good shower. Can’t fault our stay, highly recommended.

Disliked: Nothing.

Camping pod

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at Pentire and we actually extended it when we were there as the weathers was so good! The pod was well maintained with a great on suite loo and shower. It was quiet and relaxing. It was also very affordable which was a nice change as other pods can be very expensive.

Disliked: There was no mention on what was included in the pod on the listing so they supplied bedding but they didn’t supply any towels which was a bit annoying. I had only bought one beach one with me but had to buy some tea towels and another bath towel (but they don’t work very well if not washed from new.) If they would have said they didn’t supply towels I would have bought more with me. I think they should have provided a shower mat, if anything preserve the floor as it was very hard not to get loads of water in the floor after a shower.
A few more storage things would have helped as it is quite small (which I’m used to living on a small narrow boat!) A stand alone dishes dryer would have been great as the dishes didn’t dry on the tiny draining board (and there were no tea towels! 😅) Under bed storage such as large boxes for clothes would have been good as there wasn’t really anywhere for those to go. There was also nowhere to put food unless you put it in the fridge so we just had it in bags on the floor and on the surface where you were supposed to eat.
The bed was very hard (I can see others said it was comfy but was too hard for us.) We ended up putting the spare duvet under the sheet for extra padding, it helped but it wasn’t all that comfy for me.

Camping pod

Liked: Lovely pod. It was just big enough for my husband, myself and our 2 daughters and we even had a bit of a sea view from our outdoor seating area. My daughters made friends with some other children staying at the same time and they all enjoyed the play park. Lovely smart and quiet campsite in a great location for exploring. The bed was comfy as was the sofa bed. Toaster, kettle and oven were adequate for our short stay and the shower was good.

Disliked: A list of what is included in the pod would have been helpful so I knew what bits to bring rather than having to buy new. Couldn't find anything on the website.
Nothing on site ie- shop.
Some of the furniture could do with being updated (stalls were worn and side table was very wobbly) and there is a lack of storage for food or clothes (under bed drawers?) But these are minor things and definitely not deal breakers

Local attractions

The sandy beaches of Bude - Sandymouth, Summerleaze, Crooklets et al - are just five minutes away, and the beauty of this stretch of coast means it's ideal for outdoorsy pursuits of every kind, from surfing, sailing and windsurfing, to fishing, golfing and birdwatching. Walkers and cyclists shouldn't miss the chance to explore the Camel Trail, which runs for 17 miles through some of the area's most spectacular scenery. When it comes to day trips, you can tick off a considerable number of Devon and Cornwall's must-sees: King Arthur's pad at Tintagel, the global greenery of the Eden Project, the cobbles and donkeys of Clovelly, gorgeous country estates such as Lanhydrock or Hartland Abbey, and a little further afield, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. For family fun, try the Blue Reef Aquarium (just one of an excellent range of child-friendly attractions in Newquay), the animal antics of the Big Sheep, or the popular Crealy Adventure Park.
