What customers say

This well-kept, tranquil campsite offers spacious, private spots divided by trees. Guests rave about the prime location, with easy walking access to Bude, its beaches, and shops. Staff are usually friendly and helpful. While the site's layout is praised, some found the restrooms basic, dated, and needing upgrades, with occasional cleanliness and hot water issues.

Liked Pitches were well maintained and nicely spread out, WiFi worked well, lovely children’s park on site and campsite in great location for exploring Bude.

Disliked Toilets were not kept cleaned, and the sinks for washing up were not piped properly meaning all the drained water was just flowing out behind the sink into the ground.

Liked Good location for access to Bude & beaches

Disliked At 9am the site handyman decided to light a bonfire with the wind direction blowing the smoke & ash across the campsite, black toxic smoke that stank and made you feel unwell, the ash fallout deposited on everyone's tent, caravan, & car, more alarming was the exploding aerosol cans going up into the air. The fire became so big & out of control that Bude fire service was called and had to extinguish the fire, eventually someone from the park came to see what was going on and said "its only grass cuttings being burnt", the fire service found plastic & household rubbish was being burnt. Then at 11pm that evening fire service called back as fire was burning again....................no person from the park came to talk to their customers or offer any apology whatsoever and apparently this is not the first time they have been burning rubbish whilst they are people holidaying on their site!

Liked The site was quiet, easy to find and within walking distance from the park and ride into Bude.

The wash block was clean and functional.

Disliked Proper locks should be fitted to the toilet and shower doors rather than relying on a bolt resting against a worn part of the timber door frame.

The showers also lacked any shelf to put anything on although there are hooks for towels.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Campsite pitches were good, grass and flowers troughs were kept well and looked pretty.

Disliked The toilet and showers were a disgrace.
There were old wooden huts that had spiders and ivy growing in them. The bases of the showers were old painted concrete, no hooks to hang any of your clothes or towels. No paper hand towels in the toilets to dry your hands. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this campsite.

Liked Lovely campsite with palm trees and large pitches. Friendly, helpful owner

Disliked The toilet blocks weren't very clean. The sinks and toilet left for days the same. A cleaner went in daily, but from what I saw didn't clean the sinks.

Liked The actual site was lovely…well maintained gardens and a nice location.

Disliked Very basic facilities…awful toilets with minimal privacy…washing up facilities poorly maintained… no plugs or drainage pipes & muddy under foot and no shelter if it rained.
Showers were prior with nowhere to put dry clothing/ towel etc
The “walk” into Bude was initially well signed but only part way…then nothing!

Powered grass campsite

Liked Pitches and planting were kept lovely, if a little narrow in each section.
The shell studio was great for children on rainy days.
Good location on Atlantic highway and 40 mins walk to centre of Bude. Really recommend Northcott Mouth beach - 10 main drive, free parking and quieter than others in area but also has lifeguards.

Disliked There was often a queue for toilets in the morning as only 4 for 80 pitches ... and not for the arachnophobes! Also take your own paper and soap as they both regularly run out. Showers were warm but not cleaned much and only last 3-15secs each push depending which of the 4 is free, so challenging to wash thick long hair. Also no hot water for washing up at the top facilities and both washing up areas lack plumbing so ground gets boggy.

Local attractions

The beaches of Bude are rightly famed for their golden sands, clean water and surfing breaks: get along to Summerleaze and Crooklets within Bude for surf, and to the National Trust-managed Sandymouth for a quieter vibe via its steep ravine. The long sands and popular surfing waves of Widemouth Bay are a few miles from Bude, Crackington Haven is within eight miles, and the family-friendly beach of Northcott Mouth is a top spot nearby for rockpooling. In Bude town, spend a morning wandering around the harbour and Bude's buildings – including the oldest in town, Quay Cottage, and the heritage centre now housed in Bude Castle. Then, perhaps tackle the South West Coast Path from Bude Canal to Crackington Haven, and then further south to Boscastle and Tintagel…? Horse riding, cycling, ten-pin bowling, fishing, tennis and golf are all available in the region too.
