  • Small family-run campsite set in woodland alongside the River Medway
  • Leeds Castle and Bewl Water Aqua Park both 25 minutes’ drive
  • Water sports, walking and biking from the pitches; licensed café
Set in four acres of woodland bordering the River Medway and 15 minutes’ drive from Tonbridge in Kent, Branbridges Leisure is a small family-run site with all sorts of camping and glamping options to suit all sorts of people – and their dogs, of course. And once you get there, you’ll discover there are all sorts of things to do around and about the site too; it’s on the Medway Canoe Trail – a huge draw for water-sports enthusiasts who can kayak and splash around to their heart’s content. Bring your own gear (a small launch fee is applied) or hire everything on site. Walkers and cyclists can follow the Medway Valley Walk along the river right from their pitches – with the added bonus that there are many pubs for refreshment stops along the way. The site also includes a small fishing lake stocked with carp, roach, perch and chub as well as a stretch along the banks of the Medway. The fishing is free for all campsite guests. When you need an energy boost after all that activity, head for the licensed on-site café serving locally sourced menus and eat overlooking the river. Prefer self-catering? Bring your own barbecues (the café can supply barbecue packs) and firepits, or hire them on site, where you can buy buckets of wood, along with camping essentials, in the pop-up shop. For anything else, there’s a small convenience store opposite the site.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked This is a gorgeous little campsite, very green, and nicely laid out to create pockets of privacy amongst the trees, and by the water. There are playing areas for the kids and a bar for the adults. There is a really nice cafe onsite, with good food options and a lovely sunny veranda looking over the site The staff were super friendly and helpful. There's also a place onsite to facilitate paddleboarding and kayaking -although we didn't use these. Close to other facilities, like a Co-op across the road, and a nice Indian restaurant nearby.

Disliked This suprising pocket of countryside is located just off an industrial estate and near some busy roads, so although you wouldn't think it when you are in the peaceful greenery of the site, it isn't in a rural location so there is some road noise.
Also you have to pay for the showers, which is a bit of a pain, especially when you have to find the coins to do so!

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are so pleased to hear you thought the campsite was gorgeous and very green 🙂 Apologies you felt this about the showers, it is included on all the pitch information when you book and we always have £1 coins at check in to help with change. We're sorry you felt the location was not rural enough but great to hear you would visit again and recommend to friends.

Waterfront safari tent

Liked Absolutely stunning site - the safari tent is beyond what we hoped for. Aside from the plumbed toilet, shower and kitchenette it also feels beautifully secluded on the lovely site, right by the water, and contains all the basics including snacks and milk. Firepit was set up ready, and gas BBQ on the platform worked well. Safe enough for the 6yos to zoom about doing laps of the site on their bikes, and walks easily accessible out on the river by the end of the site. The lake and occasional jumping wildlife were very much enjoyed by the kids!

Disliked Our real only problem was the double bed mattress is like a rock! Even a mattress topper would help just soften it a little

From the manager: Sounds like you all had a fab time! Thank you so much for your kind review. It was lovely to see the children off on their bikes and the other friends they made on the way. Love how they kept me updated on their adventures through the woods too 🙂 So sorry you felt the mattress was too hard, it's such a personal preference isn't it, hard to know what one to pick.

Waterfront safari tent

Liked We had the most incredible stay at Branbridges Leisure! We stayed in the safari tent which had all the essential amenities provided, we even had all our firewood provided which was a lovely touch. It was picturesque and such a great site for our toddlers to play. The communal field has many games provided such as badminton, football with pitches and other garden games. Lots to do and see, including a beautiful river walk. Staff were amazing and super friendly. Highly recommend, will definitely be coming back next year :)

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked That was my first camping with kids. We came for one night, as I was not sure how kids will like it. But it was very good, kids loved it as there was a small playground with swing. Fire pit with the basket of wood was provided. Small pond make it really nice. We picked pitch in the wood, so tent was in the shade all the time. Good facilities, with running tap water close to tents, toilets nice and clean and two showers. And a small cafe at the entrance to the camping site. We will come back.

Primitive forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked "A perfect little escape!
We stayed just one night, but it was enough to fall in love with this peaceful lakeside camping spot. The setting is absolutely serene—waking up to the sound of birds and the gentle ripple of the lake was magical. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We especially loved the easy access to the fishing lake—such a relaxing way to spend the evening. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in nature, even if just for a night!"

Waterfront safari tent

Liked We stayed in the waterside safari tent for two nights and had such a lovely relaxing time. The tent had everything you need and was lovely to bbq on the decking and then move to the firepot for some marshmallows and more relaxing into the evening. Lots of lovely nature and wildlife and a secluded spot away from other campers on the main campsite. All the staff were so lovely and helpful and would really reccomend a stay here!

Thank you for the relaxing reset we both needed!

Disliked Nothing!
