What customers say
Peaceful, remote site with beautiful views & relaxed vibe. Guests loved flexible check-in & pitch choice. Quiet with great walks. Basic facilities (portaloos, cold shower) adequate for some. Concerns: sloping terrain, limited/unclean facilities, road noise.

Excellent site.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The views on this site were stunning. Toilets were clean and well serviced with plenty of loo roll. The shower was lovely - clean, spacious and plenty of hot water with good pressure. The position was great for exploring, with the villages of Brighstone and Shorwell nearby, both beautiful, both with excellent village pubs - very friendly (the 3 Bishops in Brighstone was exceptionally dog friendly) and both were reasonably priced. The village shop in Brighstone is a treasure trove, with everything you could need. The site is on a slight slope, however there are flatter areas at the top and bottom of the field and we always address a slope by pitching so that we are sleeping top to bottom which we find perfectly comfy. We loved it here!
Disliked Absolutely nothing.

Liked Well cut grass… and the late check in option, err not sure what else to say?! Good for stargazing as no light pollution??
Disliked One, cold shower available. Dirty portaloos (only two on site). No hot water available anywhere on site, including the washing up sink. Sloping site so glad we didn’t go with the children and a tent too. Inadequate bins provided. No warden or owners on site. When we stayed there was another van on site that kept starting their engine at gone midnight and shining their headlights across the field.
This site classes itself as ‘relaxed’ and ‘rustic’, however this is just another way of saying ‘don’t care’ and ‘get on with it’. Not once in the 24 hours we were there did we see anyone at all connected to owning or operating the site.
I would be extremely disappointed if I had booked a bell tent to stay here when there is one cold shower and two portaloos.
Thankfully we were in our van and bought our own toilet and could manage one night with no shower.
This is clearly a farmer or family taking advantage of tourism on the island but providing sub par facilities. We paid the same for a stay in Hampshire the night before and it had far better facilities, was in walking distance of a lovely village with safe footpaths and a warden on site.
If you're a campervan, find a lay-by and save yourself paying £20 for a sloping field with no facilities. If you’re a camper with a tent spend the same/not much more and find a different site with decent facilities. As experienced campers (tents) and camper vanners we are just relieved we only booked this as a one night stop over and didn’t have our children with us. Any longer and we would have been requesting a refund and booking elsewhere.
Lovely to see bags of rubbish just piled up around the two plastic dustbins (not even the size of a wheelie bin) on our way out today.
Worth £10 a night at most for a safe spot off the road in a self contained van. Should not be advertised a campsite as it clearly is not run as one or cared about.
Also disturbed in early hours of the morning by someone randomly driving onto, around and back out of the site.
No local amenities within safe walking distance ie on a footpath. ‘Campsite’ is alongside a main road.

Liked Location was nice and remote, clean
Disliked Noisy because next to road and some sort of refinery.
Whole site is basically on a hill, so almost no where is level.
Shower didn't work at all. Just cold running water.
Toilets had no toilet roll, and the cleanliness and smell was something else.
Myself and my daughter 7 years old need a shower from being down the beach, we couldn't. Very disappointed 😞

Very good experience
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Waay to find and a good sized field with views of fields and the sea. A nice out of the way area and as it was a Sunday night it was quiet on the site. Well kept shower cubicle and sink area as well as 2 portaloos which weren't far from where we chose to camp.
Disliked We camped next to the hedge line which was next to the road so the traffic that did come past was quite loud but this was minimal and didn't bother us. You could also camp further away from the road.
Showers were running cold but this could probably have been adjusted we just didn't know how.

An open field, limited facilities, great to get away from it all.
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked This is a field straight off the road with limited facilities which meant it was really quiet. We “checked in”
By phone and we left to chose where to park up.
Disliked The site is mainly sloping

Liked The view, which is fabulous. The laid back style of this campsite. The village pub.
Disliked Being alongside the road, which was quite busy and noisy. The walk to the pub, although only ten minutes, does involve walking along the road with no footpath for most of the way.

Our second visit to this peaceful field. We will be back.
