Liked: Love this place, setting was amazing with the countryside and the lake. We had an awesome time messing about on the paddle boards and kayaks. The owner Dave seamed really chilled and gave lots of info and what to do where to go etc. We walked to the Ash pub via Catsfield using the 1066 footpath (about 5miles) lovely scenery and a cracking lunch. Return walk through Ashburnham place which is beautifully kept and well worth a look. All in all was just what we needed to escape the real world for a couple of days and would recommend to anyone wanting a break from reality or just to have a break in the country. We had place to ourselves as it was out of season so cant comment on how tranquil it would be in the height of summer with families and weddings going on but it wont take away from how nice the place is.

Liked: Beautiful location, we chose as it had a lake and the kids love wild swimming. There are some paddle boards, kayaks and a row boat on site for campers to share and a few lifejackets but if you don't want to be waiting your turn bring your own. Site caters to weddings and even though a large one was just finishing the day we arrived the camping site was clean and bits and pieces from the party were promptly cleaned up. Bell tents on offer were lovely, think we'll upgrade to one ourselves now. Plumbed in toilet facilities and showers 👍
Lots of wildlife. Additional bonus is an on site sauna, for an extra fee, we didn't have a go though it was situated in a hut overlooking the lake and other families said it was fab.
Disliked: The large bin that was on site near the toilet facilities when we arrived was emptied once the wedding was finished but was not replaced.
The locks on the toilets and showers could do with being replaced to make it easier for the kids to use them but I know wood warps in the weather and I'm really just grasping for another thing to write in the "dislike" bit.

Liked: We had a wonderful time we were lucky to have a very quiet time with only a few others on site.
The owner was welcoming and helpful and was on hand if needed.
Beautiful surroundings and a treat to have such a special place.
Disliked: It did feel a little like they weren’t ready for the season as some of the water equipment was not fully ready. But there was plenty for us to use that was ready.

We booked last minute and the site more than met our expectations.
Hosts were very responsive and we all felt very safe. Beautiful surroundings, visited Bexhill-on- Sea which was well worth a visit. We’ll definitely be back.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike! If had to give one suggestion it would be better signage as we got lost upon arrival

Liked: Campsite not too busy. We loved using the communal kayaks on the lake. There was even limited use of a fridge, freezer and gas stove. Toilets very clean and well stocked with toilet paper. There were also picnic benches which was very handy. Lots of things for young kids to explore and the swing was lots of fun.
