What customers say
This campsite provides a no-frills experience with a friendly owner, focusing on animals and kid's entertainment. Facilities are basic and some found them dated. While many enjoyed the atmosphere and location, noise and upkeep were noted by some. Good value for a simple outdoor adventure.

Disliked We arrived on site on Friday ready for the bank holiday weekend, we arrived and got approached by two young lads who were very polite. The owner however came over and told us due to bank holiday weekend we needed to place our tent between two trees. This could not be done due to people having big tents including ourselves and he wanted to charge us for two pitches. He took final payment off us we had payed £15 deposit and then £85 left to pay for the weekend, he questioned how many we had payed for and told him we had two more on the way but we’re all staying in one tent he questioned and asked for proof I had payed for 4 people. He told us to place our tent infront of the family who was inbetween our two trees. His idea was to cramp all the tents together not leaving any room incase of a fire which had to be 6metres between tents for safety reasons. The owner whilst trying to set up our tent came into our tent looking around which made us feel conscious about our belongings. We then purchased a lock from the local shop as we didn’t trust our things being left. He kept coming over and telling us how to put our tent up and what pegs we needed which I thought was rude we have put our tent up multiple times and had no issues, and then was telling us how to do it incase we had a storm as if we didn’t know already. The toilet facilities were an absolute state they had broken doors broken toilet seats, we went into the toilet one morning and there was a female cleaning them not sure if she actually cleaned them due to the mess and dirt. She told us in a stern and not professional manner that we had to go elsewhere to use the toilet where that was I didn’t know. The toilets didn’t have doors on they have curtains. We had two tents behind ours and this meant that we could hear all conversations and was woken up in the night children crying and drunk shouting. Our electric cable was underneath someone’s tent due to the owner putting a tent behind ours. The trampolines on site were 100% broken they didn’t even look safe for children to play on, the blowup pool was filthy the children were expected to play in, the animals water was in blowup pools and was black. The fridge that was free to use was filthy inside. Overall we will be 100% not coming back here at all.

Disliked Initially waved over by site owner on arrival. Was told to pitch tent in small gap between two other tents and had to be at right angles to trees. Upon building the tent was then informed we could have placed tent further away from trees (frustrating), therefore would have created much more space for everyone. Massive field but for some reason he insisted everyone put all tents within yards of each other. It clearly states on the website that the tents are to be planned out in a zigzag formation to create space between tents, especially incase of emergencies like fires. I was asked to move my car several times, so the owner could fit even more tents in to small gaps. Large group of lads next to us who were loud and up till 5am. The owner said he had spoken to them 3 times throughout the night, which we didnt hear or see him do so, then gone to bed and put his headphones on so he couldn't hear them. Solving the problem for himself, alone. Site owners dog was roaming the field, unleashed and fouling without him picking up the mess, even though it clearly states all dogs are to be kept on leashes at all times(Picture below). We were asked to pay £60 by the owner for two nights, having already paid £9.50 deposit. We message him asking about the overpayment but was read and ignored(picture below). Whilst sitting outside the tent, we overheard(loud) conversation between an Asian family and the owner in which the owner asked the lady if she was making chicken chow mein or sweet sour chicken for tea. Nothing like a bit of racism thrown in to boot. 3 horses in the smallest part of the field left out in direct sunlight all day at 25 degrees. The amount of space he gave all the tents in total, would have fit in the tiny horse paddock, least the horses would have had some room. Toilet and shower facilities very basic and out dated. Could do with a revamp but clean enough. Female camper with two children was doing more work than the owner, guiding cars on arrival and providing activities for the camps children.

From the manager: 1) Very busy weekend and a popular site
Can’t keep all happy Most were !

We don’t know unless they tell if they have or not

Disliked Everything …
There once was a campsite run down at Southport
By a bitter old tyrant who only wore jorts.
He barked out his rules with venomous snorts,
But let worse things slide than the state of his shorts.
Three poor horses stood in a pen far too small,
While he bragged about rules that meant nothing at all.
A man with an axe roamed free through the trees,
Chopping down wood as he pleased with ease.
He’d glare at your van, demand your reports,
And ask if you’re hiding illicit imports.
Yet showers were fouled by unspeakable sorts—
While he strutted around in those hideous jorts.
If hypocrisy thrived in villainous forts,
It’d pitch up its tent in his kingdom of jorts.
And if camping means dealing with tyrannical sorts—
I’d rather sleep rough… than bow down to jorts

Liked Fantastic owner very friendly and helpful, we had a lovely corner plot a little further from other tents which was great and more suitable for my little boy due to his additional needs and our first time camping. My little boy loved the slide and trampoline well monitored by owner to check on numbers using. Very clean toilets and shower block.
