Liked: Nick and Lois were perfect hosts, they provided us with drinks on arrival, homemade rolls and pastries for breakfast and marshmallows for the fire. They also provided us with plenty of tips for the local area. The site was small and quiet with great amenities such as firepit, shower, toilet, fridge and microwave. We had a great time at Overwater Woodlands and we would highly recommend it.

Liked: This place is absolutely fantastic it is without doubt the best campsite I have ever stayed at. the woods are awesome loads of wood to supply the massive fire pit and the view is absolutely beautiful and the food is superb. Nick and Lois are lovely and clearly love what they do they are so helpful and with a good local knowledge of what to do in the area. Definitely recommend having food here as it was awesome. My little lad loved the woods the swings and getting to start a fire in the pit. Limited signal but that being said that's what I love about camping is getting away from the technology and just enjoy the surroundings
I wish more campsite were like this one but I guess that's what makes it special

Liked: I joined with four friends for two nights at Overwater Woodlands. Met by our wonderful hosts, Nick and Lois on arrival, who showed us to our three charming pitching spots (I was solo, the others comprised of two couples) with an arrival drink.
The pitches (cheerily named after local mountains) were spacious for their purpose, whilst also offering a nice degree of privacy from the neighbouring spots.
Facilities such as the compost toilet were easy to find and use, as well as the added bonus of access to the hosts downstairs shower! There is an excellent firepit with plenty of wood to keep warm on those chillier nights, with a vast tarpaulin to protect from the elements.
The food offerings are sublime - I could write endlessly but in short, Lois and Nick are fantastic chefs with a real passion for using locally sourced ingredients. Whether it be the delightful breakfast sandwich, or optional lunch/dinner add on - it was all delicious (special mention to the home made bread!).
The hosts are knowledgeable about the area and activities, so don't be shy to ask them for suggestions (we ended up doing 'cold water therapy', exhilarating but not for the faint-hearted!).
All in all, a wonderful weekend - cosy pitches with stunning views of Skiddaw, fantastic food and amazing hosts. Thank you both and see you again soon!
