What customers say
Blaithwaite House boasts lovely grounds, ample space, and kids' activities like two playgrounds and animals. Staff are friendly & the location's great for the Lake District. While most praise clean facilities & hot water, some noted noise after curfew & inconsistent upkeep.

Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked Lovely estate, nice campsite. Parts of the grass are a tad rocky but a little searching and you'll still get the pegs in. We had a lovely time will definitely stay again in the future.

Great campsite would come again if in the area👍🏽
Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked Great campsite grass was perfect to pitch a tent up.
Brilliant shower and toilet facilities always clean, surprisingly no big spider surprises
Cows loved the jazz music we played👌🏽
Disliked Lots of wasps at times (didn’t bother me but bothered the misses)😂
50 min drive to Lake District so wasn’t too accessible but was still okay for us.
We thought the fire pit prices were a bit on the pricey side (£15 for wood and £7.50 for fire pit)

Powered grass tent campsite (five person)
Liked Fabulous stay and such beautiful scenery! The staff we also very friendly. We will definitely return. The showers we so hot and always regularly cleaned. The beach wasnt far to drive to and we had such a good day. The town isn't far to drive to either, with everything you need.
Disliked The fridge on site was freezing everything. But very grateful to even have this on site anyway.

Would recommend for either family’s or couples and groups great place
Powered grass tent campsite (eight person)
Liked Really nice site, and friendly staff, walked you to you’re pitch explaining all that’s on offer and what you can and can’t do, lovely scenery around, pitches were a decent size, food vans come each night we were there in the evening offering different food’s from a roast dinner inside a Yorkshire pudding to flat breads and burgers and waffles and ice cream, entertainment was good and the bar was reasonably priced, had a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend would deffo be returning
Disliked Not as much as a dislike, just a recommendation, they could do with putting some mop and buckets in the showers as they get busy people didn’t have anything to clean the floors with, it was a bank holiday weekend and was busy, so possibly could do with a few more showers in the far field and could do with being a bit more spacious but where nice and warm and powerful only other thing I’d say was a bit pricey for a tent with electric should be no more than £40 per night for a pitch with electric and then all the add ons they charge like dogs and gazebos on top and no wifi as signal for mobiles is in a poor area

Good site for party animals, not for everyone else. Won't be returning
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Good play areas
Disliked Toilets weren't the cleanest- they weren't cleaned until 10/11am, so before that time the floors were soaked from showers, bins overflowing, little to no toilet roll.
Outside of Blaithwaite's control to an extent, but the last few days of our holiday were ruined by other campers- a tent of young girls drinking and shouting until after midnight, and a huge group (20+ including the children, spread across a couple of pitches but all sitting outside one of the tents in the middle of the field) letting their children run wild with head torches and screaming until 11pm. Disappointed that such a large group were able to book together. From leaving the bar at 9pm they were ridiculously noisy- we understand that everyone is different but there's sitting outside your tent chatting, then there's joining in with your children literally have screaming competitions at 11pm while they run between other pitches. Messaged out of hours number to see if someone could come down and enforce the "no tolerance" post 11pm noise rule- the message was read, but no response and nobody came down. Again, obviously it's out of the site's control who books the site and unfortunately with camping there's sometimes inconsiderate campers but I think perhaps a patrol around 10.30pm reminding people of the 11pm cutoff, asking them to wind it down a little isn't too much to ask.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we welcome all comments that are constructive :) We have a warden on site at all times who does patrol the site to make sure people adhere to the rules, we will look into why your message wasn't responded too but we would always recommend phoning so we can enforce the problem at the time. The reception is also open daily and can resolve any issues for you. The cleaning team work hard and start on site at 9am. We are a very busy site and do endeavour to get round each field as quickly as possible. We always recommend complaining at the time of the event so we can get the problem rectified for you, we are absolutely not a party site and every booking is advised of the rules. Once you have left the site there is little we can do to help rectify. We do hope you had a safe journey home and should you wish to discuss our office is open daily :) Many thanks Team Blaithwaite.
