Gillside is sited in an idyllic location for the perfect caravan and camping holiday. A Lakeland farm that has been farmed by the Lightfoot family for over 50 years. The camping site and the touring site each has its own toilet and shower block where a constant supply of hot water is available 24 hours a day. Deep sinks are available for washing pots and pans and a laundry with washer and drier are there for your use. Fresh milk and eggs are available at the farmhouse reception.

Route directions

From the M6 - Junction 36 take the A591 to Windermere then the A592 over the Kirkstone Pass to Patterdale and Glenridding. Turn left and follow the Greenside Road and take the 1st left past the Travellers Rest. From the M6 - Junction 40 take the A66 westwards and then the A592 for Ullswater and Glenridding. Turn right in Glenridding up Greenside Road and take the 1st left past the Travellers Rest.

Local attractions

The track that leads fellwalkers up Hellvellyn passes by the site. Just a 5 minute walk away is the village of Glenridding close to the shore of Lake Ullswater where you can find the National Park Information Centre, shops, cafes and public bars. You can view the magnificent scenery by taking a trip on the "Steamers" around the lake. Motor and rowing boats can be hired or you can have sailing lessons all available in Glenridding.
