  • Riverside site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park
  • Devil's Bridge and Kirkby Lonsdale within 15 minutes' walk
  • Walking and cycling trails into the national park close to the site
Got your walking boots to hand? Slide them on and skedaddle over to award-winning Woodclose Park – on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, it’s close to some of the UK’s most sought-after scenery for strolls, with the Lake District National Park and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty both less than half an hour's drive away. Alongside ambling, cycling’s a fine pastime to indulge in here: bring bikes to the site and hit the trails straight from the grounds or simply stick to sauntering on the walking paths surrounded by spectacular countryside. For a short jaunt, make a beeline towards the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, 15 minutes away, and tour its speciality shops, tearooms, 17th-century inns and Norman church; an even quicker wander (five minutes) leads to the banks of the River Lune and the three ribbed medieval arches of Devil’s Bridge for fishing (just make sure to arrange a permit beforehand). On top of that, the local area brims with all sorts of outdoor activities – from canoeing and kayaking to sailing and horse riding. Amenities at the site include an accessible toilet and shower block with hot water and a separate parent and baby washroom. A washing-up area and a launderette with washing machines and tumble dryer are also on hand.

Liked: Location of site, staff very friendly & helpful. Facilities clean.

Disliked: Full service pitches very close together, location of service hook up meant people in front had to keep walking into our area. Also due to where we had to place caravan and where the service point was made it difficult to connect, We couldn't connect our water pipe as service point too far in front of caravan.

FHU cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked: Excellent site - everywhere exceptionally tidy, with the most level gravel pitch we have ever had on any site 👍(no chocks required). Lady at reception was very helpful with local information and advice on paths suitable for a stick user, all facilities including toilets and showers immaculate. The location of site is great with a gently sloping tarmac path into the Kirkby Lonsdale which is the most beautiful of villages with fantastic eateries and good ale houses! There are plenty of well maintained footpaths around the site and a golf course 1/2 mile away along one of these paths.
An added bonus was lambs, pheasants on site and lots of bird song in the morning.♥️

Disliked: The waste disposal was completely blocked. They did have people out to it but it was really inconvenient and wasn’t sorted by the time we left. An expensive stay for basic necessities not to be working.

Liked: This Campsite is brilliant! Lovely flat pitches with all services included. Very friendly and helpful team always available. A great added extra is a shop that opens most of the time, very convenient for anything you may have forgotten!
I must give a mention to Skye the dog and Guiness the cat, both very friendly.
Great facilities, very clean. Will definately be back!

Liked: We totally enjoyed our three night stay with our tourer and dog.
Can't fault it. The welcome was extremely welcoming very informative and helpful.
The stuff in the shop wasn't badly priced at all. All the basics available plus a few more.

The site itself was clean quiet and so idyllic. Rabbits everywhere, and the dog was so entertained by all the walks and woods around. Devil's bridge was a 2 minute walk and no more than 10 into Kirkby Lonsdale village. Best ice cream ever in there 🍦👌
Showers and toilets were always warm and clean. The water never went cold.
We had a fully serviced pitch and everything was so easy to do. They even had an aerial port foe you TV if you have one as signal isn't great, but the tele was only a back up for when we're tired.

Definitely will be going back and the price for just out of season was unbelievable.
5* all the way. Give it a try.

Thanks for having us.

Disliked: Nothing. Genuinely can't fault it.

Local attractions

Got a month or so to spare…? You might need a good patch of time to make the most of the excellent outdoor offerings in this part of the world – the site’s 20 minutes from the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and half an hour from the Lake District National Park, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever run out of fells, crags and tarns to explore. If cavorting at the coast appeals, that’s on the menu of attractions too: the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is 20 minutes away for following specially set up arts and crafts trails or dawdling on the sands of Morecambe Bay. Other aquatic activities nearby include walks around the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (a 10-minute drive), or you may prefer a subterranean saunter around the White Scar Caves (15 minutes). If all that sounds far too active for your laidback temperament, turn up at Hawes (35 minutes), deep in the Yorkshire Dales, to spend afternoons sampling the Wensleydale cheese produced here instead.
