  • Peaceful park at a marina in the centre of the Cheshire canal network
  • Set in over 100 acres of countryside 10 minutes' drive from Nantwich
  • Café and picnic areas; access to walks along the towpath
Peaceful and scenic, Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park is a prime destination for anyone who adores the countryside. Based on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal in Church Minshull, the Cheshire park also has a great set of marina facilities. It's set in 100 acres, so guests can watch the wildlife or take a walk along the towpath. Afterwards, you might fancy a visit to the marina’s licensed café and picnic areas to unwind or rest your feet. If you fancy getting out on the water too, boat hire is available on site. Families, couples, small groups and dogs are all welcome on the site. For activities outside of the park, there are many shops, cafés and pubs in the market town Nantwich, which is a five-mile drive away. There’s also easy access to the M6 and the B5074 in Church Minshull. The amenities at Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park are nice and convenient too: they include well-maintained bathroom facilities with toilets, showers and sinks, as well as accessible features for guests with mobility challenges. The site also has 24-hour laundry facilities.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked Great site, lots of space, clean and well set out. We stayed in the Bell Tent, family of 4. It was fabulous, really spacious and comfy with bedding and towels provided. Cafe was nice too with excellent live music in the afternoon.

Disliked Only negative is not enough toilet / shower blocks. Only 8 shared by the entire campsite and quite a walk away from the Bell Tents.

A really pleasant stay on a very well run site.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Loved the marina. Very pleasant scenery. All areas clean and well maintained. Liked the field better than the hard standing pitches. Clean toilets/shower cubicles liked the fact that the shower was in the same room as the toilet and you don’t have to go from one to the other. Also liked the fact that the facilities block is heated.

Disliked Nothing really to dislike other than it would have been nice if the cafe/bar closed later.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked So peaceful, even though next to a working boatyard/marina. Lovely, clean and well kept. Massive field for dogs off lead walking. Great facilities.

Disliked The steps to the toilet and shower block are a bit steep and have no handrail. Our only minor complaint, everything else was great.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review – we’re really pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting, facilities, and dog-friendly space.
We appreciate the feedback about the steps and we will soon be getting handrails fitted.

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
