Wonderful relaxing stay
Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked Great spot! Fabulous views. Well kept facilities, clean, hot powerful shower. Top tier bonus is having a sauna available. Delicious wood fired pizzas made to order. The barn is available for a relaxed shelter. A really friendly site with a chilled out atmosphere, just what we wanted. The only bed time noise was the sound of Tom explaining the star constellations to his children around the campfire as they admired the moon and dark skies which was wonderful and made me open the van doors for a sneaky peak!
The host and his family could not have made us feel more welcome.
Disliked Nothing - it's a gem!

We're sad to be leaving this lovely site, the views are out…
Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked We're sad to be leaving this lovely site, the views are out of this world and the host (Tom) was more than welcoming, his woodfired pizza skills are top notch. We booked a campervan with awning pitch which was excellent value for money. The horse box bathroom is so clean and modern as is the little shower block. There is bell tents available which look lovely when their all lit up at night, camp fires were roaring giving such a rustic camping feeling. We enjoyed playing games in the pub barn, table tennis was our favourite although we wasn't very good at it, after a few beers we were even worse but we did have a laugh and that's what it's all about. The highlight for us was the woodfired sauna, it really is a piece of art, a lot of skill has gone into making it so beautiful, after an hour sat in there the cold baths are perfect to jump in to while gazing at the stunning scenery. We highly recommend Fairmead Farm, with it being only a 20 minute drive from us (Leeds) we can't wait to return. We use campsites all the time for our adventures in our campervan and this has to be our favourite by far.

Great for families
Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked Tom the host met us on arrival and was extremely welcoming and helpful. The little touches such as the kitted out barn for the kids meant we will definitely be returning. Tom even helped us out when we accidentally let our car battery run down. Top guy! Overall a lovely stay

Disliked Dangerous to exit the campsite on the main road, blind corner so impossible to see speeding cars approaching.
Most of the site is on a camber so difficult to park up a van without being on a camber.

Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked We absolutely loved this place! It hasn’t been going for long so bear in mind it’s in it’s in start up mode, however there are so many pluses, spotless toilets, breath taking view, cool games barn, the small bar, the pizza oven, super friendly host! We will definitely be back!!
Disliked The exit on a sharp corner (nothing can be done about this), and thistles in the grass (again, nature. Nothing can be done about it!) there was nothing that would put us off going back, it was ace and brilliant value for money.

Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked Really nice site with amazing views and different to anywhere else we'd been! Huge barn area all decorated to have drinks/games in and also a sauna and ice baths on site and wood fire pizzas! Very friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. Clean facilities and great location too with a lot to do in the local area especially with younger kids - will definitely be back.

Can't wait to stay again
Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked Spectacular views, tasty pizza, brilliant barn with games and the biggest disco ball I've ever seen to hang out in, and I suspect fantastic coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning but we didn't try them! Tom was friendly and incredibly helpful . We didn't try the sauna and cold dips but will definitely next time. Easy to get to, facilities clean, and lush grass!
Disliked You can't see the steep turn off the main road until the last minute, but you can just drive on, turn around with ease and drive back!

Beautifully scenic site, clean facilities.
Primitive grass and gravel campervan campsite
Liked Location, scenic views, toilet and shower facilities.
Disliked There is no "lights out" or quiet time in place - which meant myself and my child were kept awake into the early hours due to the noise from a large group of guests. There was no management on site during the night and no policy on large groups. But, if you like a lively festival atmosphere then this shouldn't bother you, just not for me. Another thing to be aware of is that the entrance to the farm on which the site is located is awful - the visibility and angle of the road make it extremely precarious to exit the campsite. Take care!

From the manager: Thanks for your review we're really glad you enjoyed the views, location, and facilities.
Sorry to hear noise impacted your stay. While there was a group on site, other guests and families staying at the same time didn’t report any major disturbance when asked. We’re definitely not a festival-style site and aim to keep things relaxed and respectful for everyone. That said, we’re looking at how we can improve quiet hours going forward and night staffing.
Totally agree on the entrance it’s something we’re actively working on to make access easier.
Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
