Powered grass and gravel travel trailer campsite (no awning, small)

Liked: The site is in a lovely location next to the river. Immaculately kept and bathrooms were very modern and clean, with great showers.
There is a snack bar, but only open till 4pm.
There isn't a shop on site here, so bring all you need. There is a few shops in the village and a couple of pubs and a fish and chip shop.

Disliked: One night there was a loud noise, which went on for hours and was very annoying. Apparently, it's from the water treatment works. There was also a smell of sewage for a very short while.
The restaurant and bar wasn't open Monday to Thursday, which was a shame and the ferry boat only goes through school holidays and w/e.
There was no personal contact as there was no reception. You drive in and get on with your holiday.
We also had issues trying to book for 3nts. A few others campers had the same issue, so we all had to move around the site and do separate bookings. Not a prob for camper vans but more difficult for caravans, especially if you have awnings.

The laundry and wash up kitchen are tucked away accessible only by big steps, although there is a long ramp to bathrooms.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share such a comprehensive review Steve. We're really pleased to hear you enjoyed the beautiful riverside location, the immaculate upkeep of the site, and the modern, clean bathroom facilities—especially the showers!

We appreciate your constructive feedback as well. We're sorry to hear about the noise issues - that's certainly not the experience we want for our guests, and we’ll continue to monitor this closely and liaise with the relevant parties.

We also thank you for your comments regarding the opening hours of the restaurant and also the Cafe Bar, which does have longer hours through the main summer holidays. The ferry service is new this year and operates in partnership with a local cruise company based on their scheduling.

Your comments about the booking process - we are a comparatively small site and have been lucky to experience very high demand which means that we are needing to ask our customers to be flexible when booking in order to accommodate their requests to stay based on the available pitches. Your comments on the site layout, and accessibility of facilities are very helpful. We’re always looking for ways to improve, and feedback like yours helps us identify where we can look to make things easier and more comfortable for everyone where possible.

Thank you again for your honest and helpful review. We hope to welcome you back in the future for an even better stay.
