Appleton camping pod (hot tub)

Liked Beautiful, quiet location, lovely hosts. The pod was also very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the hot tub! The welcome book had literally everything we needed, detailed instructions for everything, and the hosts were quick to respond to any text messages with questions. Absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Disliked The mattress wasn't great, we sunk into the middle a bit. WiFi was also unreliable and kept stopping, but we didn't ask for any help to fix it so it may have been an easy fix. Considering the remote location we also didnt expect perfect WiFi anyway.

Hornby (no hot tub) camping pod (no pets)

Liked Everything!
A close place to stay only 50 minutes or so from York.
The communication with the owners was fantastic, being able to text them for recommendations and help if needed.
We added the cook your own breakfast and it was lovely.
I also opted for the treat box and was amazed to find 6 large slabs of cakes that are locally sourced.
We also was surprised to receive a complimentary two milkshakes from Stamfrey Farm! They were delicious.

Bed was super comfortable and you could not hear anything around you in your pod. The pod, I must say was immaculately clean and very spacious too!

We added some eggs that are locally sourced to with our breakfast with adding a donation in the honesty box.

We had such a wonderful time and hope to book to come back again soon!

Disliked Nothing

Hornby (no hot tub) camping pod (no pets)

Liked Honestly we loved everything.
Natalie was so easy to communicate with, adding banners and balloons and contacting Natalie after booking to add things on, nothing was a problem. We were welcomed as we got there, the pod itself was decorated beautifully, very clean and tidy and everything has been thought of. We loved how everything was from local small businesses, being small business owners ourselves. We couldn't have had a nicer night away, very peaceful and lovely surroundings.
The milkshakes were a great touch, we visited the milkshake farm after we checked out to bring some home with us, we did forget the fresh eggs from the honesty box at roseacre which we need to try next time.
We will absolutely be back again!

Rounton camping pod (hot tub, no pets)

Liked Natalie was a great host so friendly and made us feel so welcome and the few little extra touches made a difference . The pod was immaculate with robes ,milk and milkshakes in the fridge. And condiments provided. The bed was so comfy ,bathroom spotless.

Disliked The wi-fi was very poor , which meant we couldnt watch what we wanted. However Natalie did provide us with another router to see if that help but unfortunately it didn't work.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the lovely review Sharon. And sorry about the wifi hub. When the weather is like it was unfortunately that tends to affect us because of where we are!
So glad you had a nice time.
Natalie

Local attractions

That afternoon tea box will seem even sweeter if it comes at the end of a long walk – and you’ll have plenty of options for where to do such a thing. The North York Moors National Park is a good place to start, for walks around sites like Mount Grace Priory, House and Gardens (15 minutes’ drive), Roseberry Topping (35 minutes) or the Wainstones (40 minutes). Got more energy left still? How about heading west to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a wander to Aysgarth Falls – or east to the coast and a stroll around the cobbled streets of Staithes (both 50 minutes)? When it’s time for a rest, you may like to sign up for a gentler day with an alpaca experience at Leven Valley Alpacas (10 minutes), or take a distillery tour at Masons of Yorkshire (half an hour).
