What customers say

This well-kept campground has spacious, level sites and spotless facilities. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. Guests love the peaceful vibe and great dog walking spots. Its location is perfect for exploring York and beyond. Most stays were great, though a few mentioned inconsistent shower temps or spotty Wi-Fi.

Liked A very clean site , always made welcome, have been a number of times and always enjoyed it. Well placed for York visits. A few nice pubs to visit for meals. Close to park and ride into York. Very helpful staff.

Disliked When we booked our stay pitch up led us to believe there were only 8 pitches left to book, there were only 7 pitches occupied including our selves and their were only 3 left on the second day, no one else came after that, very quiet stay, it of course suited us.

Liked Friendly, helpful, family-run site. Tony, the site manager, came up a number of times to check we were ok; as this was our first motorhome ‘adventure’. The site was nice & peaceful. Clean shower amenities. Access to the Yorkshire Wolds was superb.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked We received a warm welcome when we arrived. The site is very clean and tidy. The toilet and shower block for the touring field were always very clean. There were substantial dog waste bins and the dog walking field was great.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked A nicely laid out, quiet site. Good dog walk and field, clean facilities. The location is well placed for visits to the various attractions around the area, as well as being handy for York and the retail park on the ring road (if you like that sort of thing). Lots a quiet lanes and back roads to cycle on.

Local attractions

A day trip to York is pretty much an essential – or, even better, several day trips. See the big sights (the minster, the timber-framed shops of the Shambles and the Jorvik Viking Centre), but also make time to visit the National Railway Museum, take a boat trip on the Ouse river and grab a cuppa and a fat rascal cake at the famed Betty’s tearoom. For a blast of sea air, head over to Bridlington, around an hour’s drive away, for a traditional British beach day out with promenade strolls, funfair rides and donkey rides – perhaps even a spot of paddling in the North Sea for the hardier types. Outdoorsy types should make a beeline for the North York Moors National Park, around half an hour away, for walking trails and traffic-free bike routes across one of the country’s largest expanses of heather moorland. Husky trekking, rafting and ziplining are among the other options for active souls; those who prefer a more leisurely pace may opt to see the landscape from the comfort of a heritage train ride.
