  • Family-friendly caravan and camping park in West Norfolk
  • A 25 minute drive to Sandringham Estate, 45 minutes to Ely Cathedral
  • Dog walks direct from grass pitches; plenty of space for kids to play
Longing for some quiet downtime in the Norfolk Fens? Here’s your chance, for 7 Ducks is a peaceful sort of caravan and camping park on the outskirts of the small village of Walpole Highway. Set in 4.5 acres, it’s dotted by wildflower meadows, with frequent wildlife spottings and often spectacular sunsets. Bring the kids, as there’s lots of room for them to run around and play safely. And bring any four-legged chums, too, as there are dog walks straight from the pitches – oh, and don't forget to bring the bikes to cycle quiet (and often flat) country lanes. Firepits are on hand if you’re looking forward to sparking up the barbecue for a bit of alfresco cookery – buy supplies from Wisbech supermarkets (10 minutes’ drive). If that’s all too much hard work, there are several very good foodie pubs within 15 minutes’ drive. Access to the site is easy for vehicles of all sizes, thanks to the 27-foot-wide entrance gate, and shower facilities are available as well.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Absolutely wonderful site. Incredibly peaceful and lovely facilities. Donna and her family honestly could not have been any more friendly. Nothing was ever too much for them from the get go. They were happy to put our 3 pitches together and even gave us zip ties free of charge to repair one of our tents. The site layout is lovely and I really liked how the pitches were numbered. Pitches were also a great size with enough room for a big tent, sit our area and a car. The toilets were spotless with plenty of toilet roll and the washing up facilities were great. The hot water also got hot instantly which was brilliant. There were plenty of lights which came on when we walked up to the sink area which was perfect for at night. Donna was just so friendly. She always asked us how we were and was more than happy to help keep my mum's insulin cold which really meant a lot. I loved the little one site shop which was really convenient, especially with the ice pack freezing. We hired a fire pit for the second night. Having gone into Hunstanton for the day, it was such a lovely suprise to get back and find our fire pit set up ready to light. That really did mean a lot. I cannot recommend this site enough. The whole family had an amazing time. We will definitely be back.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We stayed at 7 ducks for 4 nights and just want to say what a lovely time we had. It's a great place to stay if you want a base to go see tings in and around Kings Lynn, Hunstanton, The Fens, etc. A shoutout to the owners in particular who were very lovely and came to do the rounds in the evening to check in on every pitch to make sure everything was OK. They were very attentive with cleaning the toilets and shower facilities. Bins were regularly emptied throughout the day. They obviously care about the service they are providing and I would say it was very much worth the money. I would happily camp here again.

Disliked My only suggestion for improvement would be to create a central shaded area(s) or plant border trees/hedges to keep the wind at bay and maybe a small children's play area.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked We had a great time at 7 Ducks (family of 4 + dog).
Beautiful location, nice and quiet. Clean and well working facilities all around the site. Our first 2 days were fairly quiet but it got busy towards the end of our stay. The field is set out with pitches only around the edge which really helps with noise and allows a lot of space for children to play.

There is a small shop inside the reception area which is great for emergency matches, ice creams etc.

Overall a very pleasant stay, Donna and Brian are wonderful and very helpful.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Local attractions

Big-hitting attractions in this corner of Norfolk include Sandringham Estate (25 minutes’ drive), where you can make like the royals by touring Sandringham House, exploring the lavishly planted gardens and taking afternoon tea in the really-rather-posh café. Norman-era Ely Cathedral (45 minutes) also draws the crowds with its ornate architecture, 19th-century painted ceiling and Stained Glass Museum. To blow away any cobwebs, head for Heacham (35 minutes) for bracing walks on the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path or a potter on the sandy beach. Big-sister resort Hunstanton (40 minutes) is a busier spot, with amusement arcades and fairground rides on the lively promenade. Chances are younger kids will adore an afternoon cuddling ponies and romping on the climbing frames at Church Farm – Stow Bardolph (25 minutes), while the buggy safaris at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (20 minutes) are also popular for trails leading past water buffalo and all manner of rare deer breeds roaming free on grassland. There are owls and peacocks at Norfolk Lavender – where you can also pick up souvenir plants and tour the extensive gardens – or make for RSPB Snettisham (both 35 minutes) to see avocets and terns paddling on the lagoons.
