What customers say
Beautiful, tranquil spot with scenic lake views. Facilities are clean & basic, staff friendly. Downsides: noise, inconsistent showers, poor signage. Feels unfinished & pricey for amenities.

Primitive grass tent campsite (four person, small)
Liked Absolutely loved our stay here this weekend! What a beautiful site nestled away in the woodland. Clean and warm toilets and showers, fresh running water and fire pits right next to the lake. We were so happy, we hardly left the site

Maybe a little on the pricey side, but an incredible spot by the lake
Primitive grass campervan campsite (no awning)
Liked Beautiful spot, lovely lake and woods - couldn't believe the place was so empty, but the prices might be putting folk off?
My campervan pitch was cheaper than tent, so the pricing structure is a little odd.
Lots of bad feedback if you look at the reviews, but tbf we actually really enjoyed it ! Yes it's basic, the toilets are simple and clean, no frills, same for the washup area, and the shower is an experience - warm, yes, private, less so - but nobody can see anything (and we were pretty much the only folk there it felt like) - but it's all part of the rustic charm ! And it looks like the site is a work in progress, so I bet it's constantly improving, but you can't improve that lake view and woodland - that's unchangeable !
Spoke to the guy in charge on the phone, Nigel I think - he was super helpful, so too was Blaze the host on site
Oh, and the big firepits were awesome !
Disliked Nothing

Over priced

Disliked Most things
Disproportionally expensive
Very noisy from local farmer bird scarers which began at first light to the end of the day - sounds like canons going off every ten minutes so, so don’t go if you suffer from PTSD

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you liked the lake. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with other aspects of your stay. We take all feedback seriously, and we will be sure to address your concerns with our team. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon.
Beautiful but jarringly noisy
Primitive grass campervan campsite (no awning)
Liked It is a truly beautiful location but...
Disliked ... it is not peaceful, as advertised. It says "the camping field is peaceful and quiet," and repeats the word "peaceful" again in the next sentence, but there are bird scarers which sound like shot guns placed all round, meaning from 4.45am to 11.30pm you feel like you're being shot at. It is really jarring! And very noisy. It spoils the whole experience. We left after one night. Owner refused to discuss on phone, insisted on an email which he said would be responded to within 7 days (which felt a bit much!), but we still haven't heard anything and we're past that point. Not promising! Looking at previous reviews suggets this has been known about for well over a year, so leaving the "peaceful" description feels like false advertising.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found the location to be beautiful, but we are truly sorry that your stay was not peaceful, as advertised. Your experience is completely unacceptable, and we sincerely apologize.
You are absolutely right that the bird scarers are jarring and not at all in line with a "peaceful" camping experience. We apologize for the constant noise that ruined your stay
We also sincerely apologize for the lack of a timely and proper response to your complaint. We understand your frustration at being told to email and then not receiving a reply. This is a failure on our part, and we are reviewing our customer service process to ensure this never happens again.
We understand your decision to leave early. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to making these necessary changes to provide a transparent and honest experience for our guests.
The campsite doesn’t justify its cost. Sadly

Liked the location just outside of Holt is absolutely beautiful.
Disliked While the website mentions a lake for kids to paddle in, we were disappointed to find numerous signs prohibiting swimming upon arrival. This was particularly challenging to explain to my excited son, who was looking forward to splashing around.
During check-in, we were directed to the 'welcome hut,' which turned out to be nonexistent. With no one around and a lack of signage, we found ourselves guessing where to go next.
The campsite itself is somewhat cramped, with no designated spots, which made it feel quite crowded. Unfortunately, we also had a campervan nearby playing loud music late into the night.
Additionally, the washing-up facilities & toilets appeared to be in dire need of cleaning.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found our location just outside of Holt to be beautiful.
However, we are truly sorry that your stay was so disappointing. Your comments about the facilities and management are completely valid, and we want to apologize for the experience you had.
You are absolutely right that our website is misleading regarding the lake. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused you and your son. For safety reasons, we do not allow swimming, and our website should reflect this. We are taking that photo down and updating the description immediately.
We are also sorry for the confusion at check-in. The lack of a 'welcome hut' and clear signage is a failure on our part. We are also sorry that the crowded layout and a neighbor's loud music negatively impacted your stay. We are reviewing our pitch layout and how we manage noise.
Finally, there is no excuse for the cleanliness issues you encountered. We sincerely apologize that our facilities were not up to standard. We are implementing a more rigorous cleaning schedule to ensure this doesn't happen again.
We understand your frustration and feel terrible that we let you down. Your comments are incredibly valuable in helping us improve our site and provide a better experience for all our guests.

Liked The setting was beautiful. Lovely spot near the pond, great campfire area with comfy chairs.
Disliked Inability to get in touch with management as there was only one working shower that was cold. No cleaning done in the sanitary building during our stay. Too expensive campsite to be lacking this.

From the manager: Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed the beautiful setting, especially the spot near the pond and the campfire area.
We're really sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the shower and the cleanliness of the sanitary building. That's definitely not the standard we aim for, and we understand your frustration, especially given the price. We're looking into what happened to ensure this doesn't happen again and improve our communication for future guests.

Liked We had an amazing stay at North Norfolk Camping and Glamping! From the moment we arrived, Gerome, who greeted us, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He showed us around the site, explained everything in detail, and answered all our questions with such warmth and enthusiasm. His hospitality really set the tone for our entire stay. The facilities were spotless, the location is beautiful, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a well-managed camping getaway. Thank you, Gerome, for making our visit so special!
Disliked The only small downside was the noise from nearby gun ranges, which could be a bit jarring at times, but it didn’t really detract from our overall experience.

We do appreciate your honest feedback regarding the noise from nearby gun ranges. We understand this can be a minor disruption, and we're glad to hear it didn't detract from your overall enjoyment. This is actually a bird scarer planted by a gisgrunted land owner
Thank you again for choosing us and for your kind words about Gerome – we hope to welcome you back for another special visit very soon!
