  • Near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads
  • Two parks in one: family-oriented and more quiet sections
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, gym, crazy golf, bar and restaurant
If you can’t decide whether to opt for an idle break or something a bit more lively, then have the best of both at Breydon Water Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. It’s essentially two parks in one: the first is Yare Village, for those looking for an active, family-oriented vibe, with its toasty outdoor pool (open from May to September, weather permitting), crazy golf, and a buzzing schedule of sports, kids’ activities and evening entertainment. Just 10 minutes’ walk away is the more sedate Bure Village, where there’s an indoor pool and a fully-equipped gym. The site also has wifi in the Waterside bar and restaurant.

Liked: Loved the location, lots of places to visit that were both within walking distance and a short drive away. The staff were really friendly. Events and organised activities were all ran very well and smoothly. The price for our stay was very reasonable and made for a great week away for us. We hope to return again or potentially visit one of the other Park Dean resorts nearby in the future.

Disliked: The shower block for both male and female ran extremely hot to the point of nearly burning us on multiple occasions. We heard from other visitors that they had similar experiences too. This made morning starts a bit hectic to try and get showered. There is also a farm or maybe a household next door to the area of the campsite that we were staying at which had a cockerel that loved to wake us up at 4:30am each morning, which obviously is nothing against the resort but something to be mindful of if you stay here in a tent towards the edge of the campsite (we were at pitch #42).

Liked: Cleanliness, proximity to Burgh Castle and walls near marshes. Very good value for the money paid. Staff friendly. All the cleaning facilities worked well and were regularly checked. I could get 5G reception on my phone.

Disliked: Site a bit tired looking. Was disappointed that booking extra time was not allowed as there were issues that reception staff could not resolve.

Liked: We visited earlier than last year so the site was pretty quiet. However the entertainment was still on and good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool was well kept and warm. A very good value site with great deals on breakfast.

Disliked: What was bad this year was their new ID verification process. We got the usual Pitchup booking confirmation which was good and then an email from Parkdean saying I needed to provide photo id and a current selfie photograph to a third party company to verify my identity or they might cancel the booking?! None of this was on Pitchup. Parkdean already had my name, address, email, phone number and vehicle registration so I asked why they needed the rest and what risk was it meant to deal with. They couldn't answer so I escalated my complaint to the CEO. At this point they were more customer focussed but still did not know why it was necessary but said since I was already a customer they would waive it as I was not prepared to send pictures but would show id when asked at arrival. When we booked in the lady on the desk was excellent; the site info ready and no id asked for! So for us Parkdean will be off our list until the abandon their new process.

Liked: Location near Burgh castle & interesting walks. Easy access to public transport to places such as Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Lowestoft and other surrounding places of interest.
Free entertainment , use of sports facilities and restaurants.
The actual touring pitch was well serviced and toilet facilities clean. The whole place suited our needs. It was really cheap to stay here.

Disliked: We read the reviews about the showers & the push button that you have to keep pressing. I found a few of the shower cubicles press buttons stayed on for a few seconds. You can use a teaspoon to jam in button to keep the water running.

Liked: Great place to stay, amenities and staff very good and friendly, great surrounding area with vast areas to walk and take in our British heritage

Near by is the river yare and Roman ruins of Burgh Castle

We had a great stay and will definitely book again.

Disliked: The only one negative we have is that you have to hold the button in, to have a shower, which is a bit of a pain, especially when washing one's hair 🤔

Liked: First I have to say every member of staff we spoke to was simply amazing so helpful, and could not seem to do enough. Evening entertainment was second to non and kept our kids well entertained. Outdoor pool was brilliant staff again made it even more fun by throwing and splashing water on kids. Indoor pool was more than enough got, very busy when whether turned bad. Close drive to Morrisons and retail park about 10 mins drive into Great Yarmouth good size pitches, toilets and showers kept clean. Had an amazing mini holiday in a beautiful part of the country.

Disliked: Not disliked but as to be expected, touring field looked a little drab grass was non existent in certain parts, toilets are a little dated. I am not sure if I missed it but I thought it would have been on the pre arrival email highlighted and bold there is a width restriction coming out of Yarmouth to the site if u go down the retail park past the Ford garage.

Liked: Toilets were close but run down- water leaked from cisterns and loose fittings around wash area. Showers were ridicukous in that the button had to help held continuously to get water - not helpful when showering young children. The late night noise curfew of 11.30 is also completly unsuitable for familys. Having the entertainment facilities was novel and the children enjoyed this. Having access to both pools was a bonus.

Local attractions

Great Yarmouth, a short drive away, has masses of attractions – too many to list here, but to give you an idea: the Sea Life aquarium, the exhilarating indoor circuit at Karting 2000, mini choo-choos and tiny townsfolk at Merrivale Model Village and Gardens, and the Elizabethan House Museum, where visitors can don Tudor fashions and find out what life was really like below stairs for Victorian scullery maids. There are more than 50 acres of adrenaline rides, plus parrot and sea lion shows and an Alpine chair lift at Pleasurewood Hills in Lowestoft. For those seeking more genteel pursuits, also near Lowestoft is Somerleyton Hall, a Tudor-Jacobean pile with pleasure gardens and a maze, home to the Crossley Carpets dynasty. Drive a little further and you can explore the wetlands and waterways of the Norfolk Broads, or head south to gorgeous Southwold and Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
