  • Peaceful Worcestershire site between River Severn and Droitwich Canal
  • A 10-minute drive from Worcester; West Midland Safari Park 20 minutes
  • River fishing available for an extra charge; next to a bus route
With stunning views over mixed countryside in the pretty county of Worcestershire, Mill House is home to a range of well-maintained pitches and some good amenities, including a toilet block, showers and a handy washing-up area for your pots and pans. Its location also helps it to stand out, as the site is between the scenic River Severn and the Droitwich Canal, a quick 10-minute drive from the centre of historic Worcester and next to an attractive marina. Mill House is a chilled-out kind of place – one where you're welcome to bring dogs along to join the family break and barbecues are permitted for some alfresco eats. Supermarkets, butchers and other amenities are just a short drive down the A449, making it simple to source provisions for your stay. There’s also a local bus route a short distance away, so it's easy to leave the car back at base and get out and about in the local area. Fancy a spot of angling? At Mill House, river fishing is available for an extra fee. There are also plenty of walks and cycling trails along the waterways and in the surrounding countryside to explore during your time here.

What customers say

This well-kept, peaceful campground gets high marks for its spacious, level sites and immaculate restrooms/showers. Visitors enjoy the friendly staff, pop-up bar, and kids' play area. The canal/riverfront location is perfect for strolls. Minor road noise is mentioned, but the overall experience is great, with many planning to return.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Its what it says on the tin! Quiet, very efficient and friendly staff, great bathroom and every basic facility you might need. Very well positioned for a peaceful retreat with the river, canal and the walks. Very relaxed.

Disliked The games room is a great idea with three different options, pool being the main option, but difficult to use as there are no pool cues. I'm guessing there might have been thefts, so they were locked away? The bar is outdoors, but despite the sunshine, it appeared to be unused and shut, despite us being told it was open. Prices are very reasonable so a shame it wasn't open. I was with my grandchildren, but if I'd been with friends, this may not have worked too well

Liked Brilliant campsite, the toilets were so clean and the facilities of the pop up bar and food truck were great. The drinks at the bar were so cheap and the food was really good. Nice big pitches meant the kids had room to play and all staff were very friendly. We will definitely come back!

Liked Huge tent pitches with electric hookups. The water/bins were super accessible and out of the way. They were very clean.
The toilets and showers were super clean and modern. They had a little pub wagon and burger van available on some days. Jo and Jason were very friendly and the othe4 residents were super friendly too.
The small park was great for our daughter and she had a lovely time playing. Perfect location for lots of different places too.
Had a lovely time!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked We managed to find a quiet spot. Lots of nature surrounding the site, nice canal walk. Toilet/shower block looked new and well designed.

Disliked Lots of children running around and parents yelling at kids. Toilets left in dirty state by other site users.

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Mill House! We were camping with our two children, aged 9 and 15, and the site was perfect for the whole family. The pitches are spacious, which gave us plenty of room, and the waterside location is just beautiful and so peaceful.
We were really impressed with the facilities – the toilets and showers were modern and kept spotlessly clean at all times. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which always makes a big difference.
There was plenty to keep the children entertained. Our youngest loved the play area, while our teenager enjoyed the games room. It was great to have options for both of them. The on-site pop-up bar and food truck were a brilliant addition for the evenings, making it easy to relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.
The location is also great for exploring, with lovely walks along the canal right from the campsite.
We would highly recommend Mill House for a family camping holiday and will definitely be returning!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Had a lovely weekend at Mill House. Kids and dogs (and swans) all over the place - a really fun and friendly site, and fairly quiet, though you can hear the dual carriageway next to the site. We were in a non EHU section, which was pretty quiet - right by the river so a few people fishing throughout the weekend, but there was no disruption. Lots of visits from swans and ducks (encouraged by my sister feeding them!). We were probably the furthest from the toilets and showers, but it was only about three minutes' walk.

The loos and showers were clean and well managed. I liked the music that was piped into the room so there were no worries about embarrassing noises!

There wasn't any food on site (I think there is sometimes a pizza van but it wasn't there when we were there) but the little bar is great, and reasonably priced.

I really like the site and would definitely go back again.

Disliked I know other reviews have mentioned the turning off from the dual carriageway. It's always dodgy turning off a fast road whichever direction you're coming from, and it is definitely worth keeping in mind when you're on your way!

Otherwise there wasn't anything I disliked.

Local attractions

As it's just a few miles to the north of Worcester (10 minutes' drive), you're sure to want to get into the city to visit attractions like Worcester Cathedral (with its famous Norman Crypt), the timber-framed Tudor House Museum, the Royal Worcester Museum with its extensive porcelain collection and Worcester Woods Country Park (out of town, 15 minutes’ drive), which is great for a picnic or dog walk. Slightly further afield, a half-hour drive will get you into the midst of the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a green and grassy range of peaks with lots of hikes to choose from. Head in the opposite direction for a day trip to Kinver Edge (half an hour), an elevated sandstone ridge and ancient hillfort with far-reaching views. Got kids who need to be kept entertained? Cadbury World (40 minutes) on the edge of Birmingham is sure to prove popular with sweet-toothed tiddlers. Other good options in the vicinity of Mill House include the West Midland Safari Park (20 minutes) and Full Throttle Raceway (half an hour), where there's a separate mini track for young children.
