  • Tourer park at Kenilworth Rugby Club, 10 minutes’ drive from the M40
  • Kenilworth Castle five minutes’ drive; Stratford-upon-Avon 20 minutes
  • Family-friendly on-site bar; within walking distance of supermarkets
Regardless of whether you’re looking to overnight close to Junction 15 of the M40 (10 minutes’ drive away) as part of an onward journey, or wanting to bed down with your rugby-mad family to catch a Saturday match in season, you’ll receive a warm welcome at Kenilworth Rugby Club. This family-friendly tourer park (with hardstanding pitches right behind the goal posts) has toilets in the club house for camping guests to use. It’s near the centre of town, and within walking distance of major supermarkets for stocking up. There is also a welcoming restaurant-bar on site, run by the clubhouse manager Nigel, which can prepare simple meals (including takeaway options) subject to availability. The local area is full of wonderful ways to pass your days: follow historic trails around Kenilworth Castle, or investigate the old-world pubs and restaurants along the lively High Street and Castle Hill. There’s also an abundance of walks, footpaths and cycle routes straight from the pitches – just ask club staff for their suggestions.

Primitive gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked: We were visiting family in Coventry so the location was perfect for us - within walking distance to the train station. Really quiet and located in a lovely part of Kenilworth.

Reading some of the previous reviews, they mention the height barrier you have to unlock as a negative - for us, we didn’t find that a problem and actually considered it a positive as it gave us additional security.

Facilities are basic but perfect for our needs. We considered it good value for money.

Primitive gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked: Was cheap and near to the NEC. Had toilets (even if it was a trek). Was ok as a stopover. Felt safe.

Disliked: Getting in wasn't straightforward. Not somewhere to chill 😕

Primitive gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked: Location convenient. Toilet was clean.

Disliked: Travelling in winter as a solo female, personally I found this site totally unsuitable. Essentially it’s a bit of ground next to some storage containers at the edge of a rugby field. No proper path to the toilets (in the clubhouse) and no overnight lighting. I found it quite scary. The entry barrier access arrangement, whereby you have to stand on a step ladder and open a padlock overhead if your vehicle is higher than 2.1 metres is not ideal to say the least.

Liked: Spacious and quiet. Able to enter at night which is great when using it as a stopover.

Disliked: Bit of a faff to access the site with key codes on height barrier and step ladder to reach it.

Primitive gravel and cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked: The rugby club staff were very nice

Disliked: Arrived in dark, had to call for code for overhead barrier , this gave us a key to a ladder which we had to climb in the dark relying on our phones as torches , had to climb ladder to unlock padlock to open overhead barrier which was very heavy , very dangerous
