Highly recommended, secure campground with spacious, flat sites and clean, basic facilities. Guests rave about the friendly owners, great value, and convenient location for exploring Stratford-upon-Avon. Minor road noise noted, but overall, overwhelmingly positive with many planning to return.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Plenty of space

Disliked No toilet facilities during our stay! The toilets & showers were closed at 9pm, we left at 8.15 am and they were STILL closed. So the toilet facilities are closed and locked ALL NIGHT. We were not told about this on arrival and there were no signs to say they were going to close either! How can a campsite say they have these facilities when you cannot access them. I do not see the sense in this at all, this is why we stayed on this site.... We may as well have done a pub stopover! Luckily we have our own loo in our campervan, but some people could quite easily be caught out by this. It isn't as if you can make a swift exit to find facilities elsewhere either... as you are literally LOCKED into this site. You can only leave by honking your horn at the gate (and that's if they hear you!) or you can call them until eventually they answer and someone comes to let you out. This feels really wrong, you cannot leave quickly should there be an emergency situation. Why not give a code for the gate?? Also, the facilities (when open!) are mixed mens & ladies cubicles which isn't made clear and might not appeal to everyone. It seems this place is a CL site due to the signage, but I don't know how! Unless the signage is out of date and still being displayed. Anyhow, I have stayed on MANY campsites and I rarely leave negative reviews
,but this one is just wrong on so many levels and the owners really need to have a think about how they are running this place as currently it is just unacceptable.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nothing as they wouldn’t let me in!

Disliked Being turned away because I only had a little tent & not a ‘roof’ tent. You could say this was my fault for not understanding the difference, but i am not a regular camper & had fled a bad relationship 150 miles away to find my family that lived locally away, so I booked the site & got a tent from my dads lock up. In floods of tears I begged her to let me stay as I had no where else to go, she suggested another site nearby but they were full. I see this is not the first time a lone female has not been happy with this site. I hope she never finds herself in such a vulnerable situation.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The fact it was a secure site
Good levelish field
Owners on site throughout

Disliked That the owner had to constantly let you in and out ( so we felt like he knew all the time where we we going and what our plans were
The showers and toilet areas were dirty throughout our stay with no toilet rolls at times
The shower was very hot for 2 mins then constantly cold, needs some hangers on the backs of the doors
No bins in any of the wash areas etc or toilet brushes
Old soap dispenser on the wall ( needs to be taken off and replaced with a pump soap that is at t6he side of the sink

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Really easy site for access to Stratford Upon Avon. Plenty of space on the weekend we were there. Great price for a site with shower and toilets

Disliked The toilet block had both men’s and ladies toilets in the same area.

Local attractions

When you stay here you’ll be just a little way north of the top edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, so there’s lots of lovely scenery to explore on walks and outings there. Some of the favourite spots nearby include National Trust - Hidcote (10 minutes’ drive), Broadway Tower (20 minutes), Cotswold Lavender (20 minutes) and Batsford Arboretum (25 minutes). For other ways to see some of your surroundings, you may like to take a walk along the eight-mile Blossom Trail from Evesham (25 minutes) – it’s particularly lovely in spring, when all the flowers bloom. A steam train ride from Broadway to Cheltenham on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is another excellent option. To take in some of the area’s history, spend the day in Stratford-upon-Avon (10 minutes), visiting Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and Tudor World. The town is also home to the MAD Museum and Stratford Butterfly Farm for family outings. Warwick Castle (25 minutes) is a great choice for a full day out as well, with all sorts of displays, play areas and kids’ activities as well as the medieval castle and parkland to explore.
