If ‘pub within easy walking distance’ is on your wishlist for somewhere to stay in Shropshire, you’ll be pleased with the offerings at The Three Horseshoes: pitch up here and you’ll be staying in the field right behind the pub in the village of Sambrook. This is a classic country pub, serving up real ales and plenty of other drinks in a friendly environment that also welcomes dogs. There’s a beer garden for alfresco drinks on sunnier days, and a programme of community events that might include quizzes, barbecues and live music – keep an eye out for what’s on while you’re here. (Please note the pub no longer serves food.) Things are kept pretty simple in the camping area, but guests will have access to drinking water and wifi, and there’s access to pub toilets throughout the day and night so you won’t be caught short. This spot between Newport and Market Drayton (and about 10 minutes’ drive from each) is a handy one for getting out and about: it’s only a short way off the A41 and within easy reach of all sorts of places for days out. That might be city days in Birmingham and Chester, soaking up the history in Ironbridge, heading out to hike the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty…

Liked: Flat, well managed and good sized field to camp in. I only stayed for a night as a stopover en route to Wales - it suited my needs. Having access to the pub toilets is really helpful, there's an outdoor tap for drinking water and a washing up area.

Shame there aren't any showers but again, I only stayed for one night so not the end of the world.

Location is rural and quiet.

Liked: Had a really good stay here. We chose an electric pitch, we were close to the porta loos, but we could also use pub toilets 24hrs which was good, lovely pub, owner Gaz was very welcoming even though he had been busy farming gave use the wifi password which was a winner for the kids, told us to make ourselves at home which was a nice touch. Bar staff couldn’t do enough, Free range farm eggs for sale which was a bonus. First time camping with the kids 8 & 10 they loved it, we stayed for one night. Site was practically empty just a camper van and a tower caravan. Good level field loads of space, pic nic benches park right by your tent.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Second year staying here. Really lovely traditional pub - enjoyed tucking myself away and getting on with some work on my laptop whilst listening to the stories of the locals.
Really helpful staff throughout process. Field has plenty of room and is really clean and quiet.
Really convenient for getting to National Sports Centre. Will be back next year!

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
There is no reception at this park. Please check-in at the the bar instead.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Public areas are non-smoking.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and trunks must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
