Happily stay here again.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Big open site with great views. Just a few minutes walk to get food/drink at the local pub.
Wild style camping but with a bit of the convenience of composting loos and a shower(just 1).
Wildlife could be heard even if not seen.
Great friendly welcome.

No BBQ/ campfires allowed so couldn’t stay. However, prompt refund
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Prompt payment of refund.
Disliked On arrival we were told that we were not allowed BBQ/gas/camp fire. This was after travelling down so was very disappointing and we could not stay as all our plans were centered around our ability to cook!
We understand reasons for their decision (dry weather and risk of fire) and respect their concern about safety.
However, they should have told us when we booked or prior to leaving and should not advertise bbq/camp fire on the website. We only booked the day before and I have noted that they still advertised bbq / campfires all weekend.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We absolutely loved this campsite. The owners were really friendly and helpful and the site itself had everything we needed.
The composting loos were surprisingly nice with lights, lots of loo roll and other thoughtful supplies. We didn't try the shower as we were just there one night but it was clean and spacious.
This site is perfect for kids - there are friendly goats to fuss over, a little playground and a giant pile of sand to mess around in :D
The pitches are mowed into the two camping fields and they are very well separated - we stayed in peak season and we felt secluded. Overall a wonderful stay 10 out of 10!

Would definitely go back there again.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Very quiet, lots of space to yourself and nice little walk.
Shower and toilets were great. Shower was a short walk away down the hill and across the brook but was clean.
We greeted by the owner of the space and she was really helpful and lovely too!

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Friendly check in. Pitch up wherever you want. Facilities are very basic! My first impression of the shower wasn’t the best, felt a little “too outside” but the water was super hot and it was surprisingly a nice shower experience. There was no WiFi but I had a strong phone signal.
