This well-kept, small campsite gets high marks for its spotless, modern facilities, including showers and restrooms. Clean but not friendly stuff!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful location.
Disliked Not friendly landlord. We booked for 2 nights and we stayed only one. Fantastic place to walk your dog. Not great for children. The owner told me that he runs a trustee shop and he asked if I know the meaning of that! He made me and my kids not to feel welcomed. I won't recommended this place to any of my friends or family.

From the manager: We’re sorry you feel we deserve a 1 out of 10.
We greet campers at reception to introduce them to the campsite, so all campers get to know where everything is. We include the honesty shop (not trustee shop as you quoted) as part of this greeting to everyone. Some people do not know what an honesty shop is – hence why we introduce it. You took it as a personal affront for some reason when I asked you (like I would anyone else) if you know what an honesty shop is - we’ve never had this reaction from any camper before.
We think its unfair you said we dd not make you feel welcome. You arrived at the front door of our house (not the camping reception) at dusk, where you were greeted by the whole family with a "Hello, are you coming to camp, the weather is not on your side. Let’s go and get you settled".
We understand this was your first camping experience. We will try and help if we can, but you asked for several pieces of camping equipment that we just do not provide. Being prepared for camping in very wet weather is a must. We’re not surprised you decided to return home after one very wet night.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Disliked Perhaps a little too closed to the road but it was perfect location for us to stop on the way to central London.
Did not use WiFi so cannot comment on it.

Excellent site, clean, many essentials provided and some luxuries too.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Washing up facilities, nice toilets/shower/washroom and honesty shop selling the essentials (including teas and coffees) makes it a relaxed camping experience. Plenty of space for each pitch and the size of the site means you never too far from the toilets. My daughter loved the chickens!
We wished we'd booked a longer stay.

Level, very clean site with nice size pitches. Beautiful vibes.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very nice family-friendly place to camp. I felt super comfortable and safe here and we had a great time. Kids loved the chickens and the extra play area space they could run around/play in. Also, the honesty shop is great, if needed for those urgent things, or a little treat. Fab to be able to hire a fire-pit too. Thank you!
Disliked The walk to the nearest village/food was along an incredibly dangerous road, so would advise driving.

From the manager: Thanks very much for the likes - much appreciated.
There are safe off-road tracks northwards from the campsite to Steventon, which has three pubs and a Co-op. The same off-road tracks will also take you to a very good farm-shop. When asked we always advise never to walk on Featherbed Lane. If you need to get to East Hendred we suggest driving.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely welcome. Beautiful facilities, perfectly clean. Amazing shop, with local bakery cakes, their own eggs, crisps, excellent coffee, so welcome as we were arriving on foot. Flat and level ground, easy pitching. Trees around the site, it's sheltered and some shade.
Disliked Noise from the road, but it didn't bother us.
