Liked: From contacting Eva to ask if we could arrive early and getting a resounding yes I knew we were heading to a welcoming site.
It was easy to find and very clear signage set out a few inclusive instructions and barrows provided made getting to the spacious, level pitch.
The no cars on site kept retained a very natural feel and with swallows, kites and swifts wheeling overhead, we quickly relaxed into the beautiful calm surroundings.
A wonderfully stocked ‘pantry’ with local honey, eggs and sweet treats was a gorgeous addition and just added to the welcome and sharing feel.
Very well presented compost toilets kept with the natural feel of the site and they were set in dry, gravelled area.
We will return as the site was so relaxing and welcoming we didn’t leave site until absolutely needing to so didn’t get to the Kelmarsh tunnels or the local pub.
Disliked: That we didn’t have longer

Liked: We had a brilliant stay at Arthingworth Camping Site. Everything we needed, very private spot, lovely surroundings. Clean toilets & a lovely little “pop up” pantry where you could purchase a few necessities if needed, we purchased some fire wood & put the money in an honesty tin which I thought was a lovely idea 😊
Would definitely return.
Disliked: A long walk from our car to our camping spot. Would prefer parking next to pitch or at least be able to drive to drop our belongings off.
Wheelbarrows were supplied though which was helpful 😊

From the manager: We’re so pleased to hear you had a great stay! Thank you for your positive review and for choosing us. We would love to host you again, and with our 'pick your own pitch' ethos you are more than welcome to pick a pitch closer to the car park - some only 5m away from your parked car! Thank you again for staying with us!

Liked: We loved the campsite. It was a beautiful long field with plenty of space between pitches. We were only staying for 1 night so stayed fairly close to the entrance. The toilets were super clean and smelled fresh all the time. There was a nice little larder with eggs, cakes and other bits and bobs with an honesty box to pay.
Fresh water available via a tap near the entrance. We saw the owner a couple of times and she was friendly and helpful.
During the evening we used one of the fire pits on site and bought a sack of wood and had a campfire.
Disliked: None at all.

Disliked: We didn’t dislike anything in particular!
The bin was a bit of a mess on arrival but the owner came down before night fall and cleaned it up, came over and apologised to us.
We couldn’t see the bin from where we were so it didn’t affect us really.

Liked: Easy to set up and being able to chose our own pitch.
Good toilet facilities and the pantry/ shop.
Space between pitches.
Disliked: We understand that it was a bank holiday but the bins were so full we decided to take our rubbish home.

From the manager: We loved having you at our campsite! Thank you for your great review and for being part of our community. I understand the bins were very full as people left on the bank holiday - we have commercial bins offsite and do collect the rubbish everyday, but I know if can look a bit of an eyesore before we get down there to do that! Thank you for staying with us, Eva

Liked: This was our first time camping as a couple and we really wanted to go somewhere that felt like wild camping, but still had some basic facilities including toilets and a little tuck shop with local honey, pastries, supplies for a fire. This campsite did not disappoint. This camp site is set in a beautiful location and the pitches are well spread out so you’re not too close to anyone. You choose the pitches when you arrive and we chose one next to the lake overlooking a field of sheep and the host met us shortly after we were set up. The weather on the first day was miserable so we visited the local pub which was a short walk away. There are beautiful walks nearby and it’s the perfect place to get away from the world for a few days. 100% would recommend, we’ll definitely be back

Liked: Beautiful spot, loved the pantry and the opportunity to have camp fires. Will look to stay again
Disliked: Group of teenagers camping playing loud music and shouting into the early hours. Had to move my pitch at 00:30am to get away from it and some sleep. Even though rules clearly state no music after 10pm. Nots the site fault but with no management on site these are the problems rural campsites face

From the manager: Thank you for your kind words and for staying with us Daniel. We truly appreciate your feedback, and I can only apologise for the disturbance. My number is emailed to everyone and is on both our information signs, so if you have any issues, including noise, you can call me anytime - I'm only 2 minutes away in the farm house. I was sorry I wasn't able to meet you during your stay, but I hope we can host you again, and you can truly appreciate how our site normally is, peaceful and quiet!
