  • Northamptonshire farm site five minutes’ drive to Silverstone Circuit
  • Stowe Gardens 10 minutes’ drive and The Canal Museum 20 minutes
  • Pick-your-own grass pitches; pub and small shop five minutes’ drive
Heading to an F1 event at Silverstone? Book your stay at Dadford Road Campsite in Northamptonshire, as it’s a handy five minutes’ drive down the road from the racetrack. It’s also a clever choice if you’re wanting to explore the Capability Brown estate at Stowe Gardens (10 minutes’ drive), play golf, go hiking, try sky diving… or just put your feet up on site. The level, well-kept camping field is set on a family farm with large, pick-your-own-space grass pitches. They’re not limited by size, so you can spread out and camp together with family or friends if you like. Car parking is allowed on the field as well. Bear in mind that there’s no electricity on site, so factor in torches when it comes to packing your gear. Handy amenities include mains water, washing-up sinks, fully flushing toilets and hot showers with step-free access in the facilities block. You can pick up all your grocery needs at the local shop, or make haste to the nearest pub (both five minutes’ drive) for a pint and good food.

Powered grass campsite

Liked The space and wildlife - bats in the evening and rabbits in the morning.

From the manager: Joy,
Thank you for taking the time to review our site.
Glad you enjoyed the space and wildlife!
Good idea about a map - we will add one to the photos on Pitchup - to help people find the camping area easier.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Didn't like anything

Disliked Arrived, no one around. Didn't know where to pitch up and there was only one male toilet open.
No signage as to where to put our van, so left and found another campsite.

From the manager: Dear Elaine,

We are sorry to hear you 'Didn't like anything'.

We aren't sure you stayed long enough to see our facilities properly. We also believe that we spoke to you in person to welcome you, but by that time you had decided to leave and didn't want any help.

There are lots of toilets and showers for big events like F1 at Silverstone and the rest of the time there are two large Wet rooms with toilets and showers and hot water all year round - they are on the end of the building - perhaps you couldn't find them?

We are sorry there wasn't any one to welcome you - we are busy farmers and the campsite is small and we are most happy for people to help themselves on arrival.

In order to help future customers, we have added some extra wording to Pitch up to help others who didn't know where to pitch. We have also asked pitch up to add our site map to the photographs on pitch up - so people know where to pitch.

Of course we are disappointed with your one star review. We have lots of good Google Reviews though, except the one you have also left there of course, so hopefully people have a full and fair picture of our site from the numerous reviews that can be seen.

We hope you found a campsite and enjoyed your stay there.

Handy for a midweek early morning driving experience at Silverstone

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Good facilities and friendly enough landlord who comes to see you. However there's no level ground on this site. Everywhere is a slope so not great for tents. Would be OK for motor homes and caravans if you have large leveling blocks. Over all good value for money and no issues.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback, lots of it really good, thank you.

We do have plenty of folks camp with us in tents and generally don't get complaints about there being no level ground! We tend to let folks pick their own pitch that suits their wants and needs best - and that seems to please people.

I loved the site, first time…
