Spacious site

  • Peaceful family-friendly rural site in the Lincolnshire Fens
  • A 15-minute drive from Boston and 40 minutes from Lincoln
  • Top spot for aviation fans: 15 minutes’ drive from RAF Coningsby
Up for peaceful stays full of adventure, exploration and… plane spotting? You’re onto a winner at Bailey Bridge Farm, a family-friendly site 15 minutes’ drive from Boston, Lincolnshire. This is aviation country, 15 minutes from RAF Coningsby and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre. Airplane anoraks should pack binoculars and settle in next to Coningsby to watch the jets zoom by, nosedive into the history at the Battle of Britain memorial site, or head to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, 25 minutes away in East Kirkby, for rides in a Lancaster bomber. Prefer to stay close to the ground? This is the Lincolnshire Fens, so it doesn’t get much flatter than this. That makes bike rides (the site is located on National Cycle Route 1 from Hull to Harwich), hikes and countryside rambles a cinch for all ages and fitness levels. There are trails to follow at Jenny’s Wood, less than 15 minutes away, while more ambitious guests can head in to Woodhall Spa, 20 minutes away, to join the long-distant Viking Way. When a (relatively) lazier time is required, stick around on site to take in the countryside views or bask in the peace. Round off your day with fresh-from-the-barbecue eats, then settle in next to the campfire for cosy and quiet evenings browsing the farm's fast fibre broadband.

What customers say

A peaceful, well-kept rural site with spacious pitches. Owners Susan and Mick are highly praised for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness. Facilities include a summerhouse with amenities, clean restrooms and wash-up areas, and outdoor games. Ideal for those seeking tranquility and wildlife, with good access to local attractions. Minor points include intermittent Wi-Fi away from the summerhouse and a basic shower. Recommended for its value and welcoming atmosphere.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Cute little pitch site.
Clean and safe for the kids to play around.
Lots of toys left on the camp like swing ball and tennis rackets for the kids to play with.
We were given plenty of room for our family of 5 and asked where we would like to pitch.
Nothing was too much trouble, all they asked that noise was lowered to wispers after 11pm.
Provided us a fire pit and wood for a little extra cost. Which we thought was great!
Has a cute little cubby kitchen and a summer house with everything needed in it.
Great views of the sunset on the back fields.
Was shown around on arrival everyone on site was lovely and polite.
Genuine hard working couple.

Disliked The window on the toilet door was a little invasive. You can’t be seen unless someone really wants to look but I think this would benefit from being covered with reflective film. Showering facility is very basic but does its job.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Everything, lovely site, beautiful and quiet. Looks tiny when you get there but it's got lovely quirky little spots for more peaceful camping. Could hire a firepit and buy logs on site. They had some outdoor toys for the kids to play with. Couple who ran the site couldn't of been any nicer and more helpful.
Definitely recommend.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovey little campsite. Perfect for cyclists using the no. 1 cycle route. Had a great set up for cyclists - kettle, microwave phone charging and somewhere to sit on wet evenings.
Also loved the shower in a tent.. brilliant.
Site owner was lovely, couldn’t do enough.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely quiet spot in beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. Susan and Mick are very friendly and generous and made me feel at home. Susan gave me some books to read, one of them was about The Dambusters, I was reading it and got to the part where they started their engines up, I heard a drone in the background and a few minutes later a Lancaster flew by heading back to RAF Coningsby, a little while later a Spitfire and Hurricane flew over. Perfect place to stay if you have small kids as there's plenty of toys for them to play with, the clubhouse is a great idea, especially for people in tents as there's somewhere for them to sit. There's a microwave, tea making a facilities and a big fridge. If you're in a campervan or towing you drive down a track and access the site from the back as it's tight driving over the bridge, the track is totally passable, no ruts or potholes, it'll just make your pots and pans and grill pan rattle. I will be back again, hopefully soon.

Liked Fabulous campsite, lovely host who couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely visit again. Small enough to let the children explore on their own and a great selection of outdoor games available if needed also.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Friendly people, quiet site, plenty of space.
We had a lovely stay here, went to the nearby bubblecar museum and enjoyed watching the harvest. Susan was incredibly helpful and kind and if there was anything we needed she did her best to help.

From the manager: I am sorry about the 9/10 for cleanliness . The toilet areas are checked 4 times a day . The potwash also but it’s a busy area and not everyone keeps it tidy after use . As fast as we replenish toilet rolls they are gone ( not every week ) but that particular week with a few very small children . Toilet paper everywhere and although we have bins out there labelled , someone kept dumping food in the potwash bin . Taps were left running also .

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Susan was superbly helpful and very friendly.
We enjoyed our stay and found the site to be clean.
For other travellers there are no showers onsite.

From the manager: Yes we do have a shower it’s an Amazon pump £50 in a beautiful tent which cost £150 . You have to get a bucket of hot water from the potwash and it works really well . I don’t think I explained to you , really sorry as it was quite busy then we had torrential rain set in . WiFi is 100% in the summer house but can be intermittent down where you were , with your beautiful little dog Hettie . The weather changed so quickly which makes or breaks a stay .

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What an absolute diamond of a place. The owners were absolutely gems and couldn't do enough for you. The summerhouse was a cozy little addition that we were aloud to use due to the weather. There's a solar shower. A green toilet, another toilet and wash up sink with running hot water. We were made to feel so welcome. It was just so peaceful

Local attractions

Start explores with a jaunt into Boston, a 15-minute drive from base, to gape at the (rumoured) highest non-cathedral church tower in the world at St Botolph’s, wander through the free museum, clamber aboard a boat for a cruise along the river, or catch the Boston Belle for a seal-spotting trip to the Wash National Nature Reserve. For a taste of history, there’s plenty to entice hereabouts: the 15th-century moated Tattershall Castle should get things started about 10 minutes away, and Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens and the oh-so-pretty Gunby Hall are within 40 minutes. More intriguing options include the Bubblecar Museum (10 minutes) and the spectacularly decorated Kinema in the Woods (20 minutes), believed to be the only UK cinema still using rear projection. Stick to the historical with a trip to Lincoln, 40 minutes from the site, to explore its 11th-century castle, roam its medieval Bishop’s Palace, glide around its cathedral and view one of just four copies of the Magna Carta. (There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and theatres to venture into too…) Prefer wildlife to city walls? Make a visit to the Ark Wildlife Park and Rescue Zoo for close encounters with lemurs, meerkats, llamas and lizards, or flap over to RSPB Frampton Marsh for some birdwatching – both are 25 minutes from base.
