  • Mablethorpe 10 minutes’ drive and the North Sea Observatory 15 minutes
  • Dog-friendly glamping pods in a wildflower meadow; livestock on site
Manor Farm Stay is set in the small, friendly village of Sutton on Sea on the east coast of Lincolnshire. It’s a peaceful spot for country walks in the Wolds or days out on the sandy local beach (15 minutes’ walk) and the dunes at Sandilands nature reserve (five minutes’ drive). The luxury glamping pods were designed and hand-built by the site owners and sit in a grassy wildflower meadow. They are self-catering with fully equipped kitchens, cosy seating areas and dining tables, and each has an ensuite toilet/shower room. Outside, they’re surrounded by enclosed gardens and private seating areas, and there’s bags of space between each pod. Extra privacy is provided by landscaped mounds planted with bee- and butterfly-friendly shrubs. There are wildlife belts around the site, so keep an eye out for the resident owl and muntjac deer. You’ll also come across the farm’s cattle, sheep and Stanley the pony (he’s in the field next-door to the pods). There is no vehicle access to the pods themselves but the car park is only a short walk away. Wheelbarrows are provided to help move your gear backwards and forwards. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome to join you, but please keep them on leads around the farm animals. And finally, if you’re travelling on public transport, there are two bus stops 10 minutes’ walk from Manor Farm Stay, and the nearest train station is at Skegness (half an hour’s drive).

Camping pod

Liked: The glamping pod was superb - even the small touches were excellent. We stayed in 'Chicken' and had chicken themed duvets, tea towels, prints etc.
The only thing we needed was our own towels, literally everything else was provided.
The working farm was excellent too; my niece loved the tour of the animals and her highlight was 'touching an egg freshly laid'.
They've literally thought of everything - wheelbarrows for transporting cases, emergency torch (in case you've forgotten yours); toilet roll and washing up liquid; even milk and homemade biscuits.
The site is small with 5 pods in total, but each has it's own fenced plot with wild garden so you're pretty private.
No WIFI though - but you don't mind as the sites so peaceful it's nice to get away and spend time with the family.
An excellent, excellent stay

Camping pod

Liked: Absolutely beautiful setting and welcoming host. Sheep and a horse in the field directly opposite our glamping hut. Huts are built on site by the owners and are well maintained, decorated, designed and furnished.

Disliked: Nothing. It’s a small site with no play facilities for kids so, if you’re taking kids for more than just a few days, you might want to look for a larger site. However, this isn’t a negative - just something to be aware of before booking.
