Liked: The main draw for us was the children's park and our two daughter's loved it (6 & 3). I had requested a pitch opposite and we were lucky that this was available. Along with the slightly later check out time which most sites don't have (we have a folding caravan so the later we can check out the better).
The site was really well maintained with great sized pitches. The toilets and showers were always very clean and warm, particularly welcoming in the middle of the night as there was ice on the cars for a couple of them.
The site did have wifi which was mostly good. It dropped out occasionally but nothing major and we were thankful of it for the kids to watch a film at bedtimes.
The owner and another gentleman who helped to run the site were both friendly and helpful.
We noticed a little coffee / snack van that came daily and parked on the lane which we didn't use this time but they sold ice creams etc so great for warmer days.
Plenty of nice walks and not to far to walk into the main town where there was a small selection of shops and a couple of supermarkets.
Disliked: Whilst we were there the boiler system was replaced and updated meaning that the toilets / showers / hot water were out of use from 9am until initially 2pm. we do have a camping toilet in the awning but for obvious reasons we avoid using it. We were told if we needed to use them to just let them know and they would use buckets of water to flush them away.... Not sure anybody wants to do that really. The toilets where switched on again just after 2pm but the hot was off until around 8/8.30pm meaning we couldn't wash up properly or have showers until late (we prefer evening showers to warm us up before bed). The hot water in the taps remained off to preserve water for the showers until the following morning. I specifically book sites with facilities as we don't have them in our unit so to have them turned off for the majority of the day was rather disappointing, especially when it is what we had paid for.
I fully understand and appreciate that maintenance needs to take place but it could have been better planned to not happen in the children's school holidays during the easter bank holiday week. Particularly as from what my husband was told this was being done as a cost saving exercise for the site, as opposed to there being a fault that needed urgent repair.
That being said the showers were always nice and hot before and after the replacement.

Liked: The location of the campsite is great, very quiet but easily accessible and totally surrounded by woods with amazing trails throughout.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Site beautifully tidy and exceptionally clean toilet/shower block that was always heated.
Picnic benches near reception set out beautifully.
Toilets always well stocked and always plenty of hot water.
Washing up/veg prep area with plenty of hot water and plenty of room.
Plenty of interesting places accessible on foot by trails through the woods, quiet country lanes or a short drive depending on your preference .
Loved that this dog friendly campsite had a huge field with gateway through that you could take your dog to and let them off lead for a good run around.
WiFi and electric hook up availability was great.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: We loved the setting of this campsite. Gorgeously situated nestled in woodlands it was brilliant for walks and cycling. There are miles of walks and trails literally from the campsite. We especially loved that you could walk to a lovely farm shop within ten minutes on a flat trail through the woods. The farm shop has a cafe that sells lovely food too. The wardens were friendly and the pitches were generously sized too. There are a lot of seasonal campers on site but we found them all really welcoming.
Disliked: The showers are those awful push button showers which literally only last for five seconds unless you try to hold them in whilst showering. Not the most convenient but they were hot and clean so can’t really complain.
