Liked: Lovely little camp site.
Owner was friendly and informative. He gave us a fire pit to use and free wood.
It is close to a main road but that didn’t really bother us.
Toilets were clean always has toilet paper soap and tissue. Only 2 showers. We were always up early had no issues waiting.
Cafe looked lovely. We didn’t use it because we were either out or brought food back with us.
Power tripped out a lot when 2 of us were cooking at the same time.
Not sure what the neighbours were using in their tent but it couldn’t hold too much power at once.

Liked: Beautiful location. Well placed to travel out to see the locallity. The site owner is a very pleasant man and the cafe is lovely.
Disliked: Stayed on a bank holiday weekend so the place was rammed with all sorts of inconsiderate campers. The people next to us pitched so close and tgen put wind breaks up to us we could not get our caravan out. Luckily the people.on the other side helped us remove our van from site. To be honest the site owner had let two many people on site and had not supervised where they put there tents up. The facilities were adequate for the amount of people that were there on the first night but wholly inadequate for the amount of people that were there over the bank holiday weekend. There were 2 showers to service 25 pitches so approximately 100 people and quickly got disgusting. As for the rest of the site I think it is in decline as the cafe bus and the shop were closed and full of junk. The site is also not secure with the entrance to the site being open to the cafes carpark all the time. This made me very nervous and meant that I had to put on my hitchlock and wheel clamp after I had pitched up. In summary the site is the poor secon cousin to the cafe everything on the sit is a bit second hand and cobbled together. Where as the cafe is very nice. I know from personal experience how tight finances can be running a roadside cafe as a friend of mine has one and he is always 1 step away from going broke. But instead of propping up the cafe with the campsite invest just a little more in the site and supervise where the campers pitch up. And this site will have a very different feeling.
