  • Family-run pub site between Worcestershire and Herefordshire
  • Tewkesbury and Upton-upon-Severn both within five miles
  • Locally-produced food served Tuesday to Saturday; carvery on Sunday
Once you’re all pitched up, you can head straight in for a pint or a wine – this park is rather handily tagged onto a cosy pub. The Hunters Inn, on the edge of Longdon village, is a handy four miles from the historic town of Tewkesbury around half an hour’s drive from Cheltenham, and also within easy reach of several of the area’s most famed historic attractions, including Tewkesbury Abbey, Gloucester Cathedral and Hartlebury Castle. The Malvern Hills are also a cinch to get to for walks and big bike rides, and the water meadow at Severn Ham, just outside Tewkesbury, is smashing for a bit of wildlife spotting and birdwatching. When you’re done with days of Worcestershire sightseeing, return back to base for a barbecue. However, if you’d rather have someone else do the cooking, then the pub serves some pretty great locally sourced food instead. There’s a nice sprinkling of entertainment here too: if you’re there for the pub’s monthly quiz, you can exercise some brain cells for a crack at winning the Hunters’ pub quiz crown.

Liked: The pub is the absolute best! The most amazing food ever.
Don’t be put off by the slightly dated look of the pub. The pub and campsite are superb. Very peaceful and we’ll definitely return.

Disliked: Shower block

Liked: Nice big pitches, food in the pub was really good and huge portions.

Disliked: Facilities were very tired and not big enough, 2 toilets and 1 shower in either side in a portable unit. Not very clean.

Power optional cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The site was well kept and pitches reasonably level, good access to site with locked gate. The pub next door had good food reasonably priced with pleasant staff and a public footpath just up the road to walk your dog. Pub also does take away meals if you prefer to eat in your caravan. There is free WiFi but signal wasn’t brilliant on hard standing pitches, Would have given 5 stars if toilet block was tidy.

Disliked: Toilets and shower are in serious need of improvement and could do with a good clean. Toilets are very narrow with one of the male toilet doors not being Able to be locked when in there and no toilet paper available in the ladies. Both male and female toilets are in one demountable and they could really do with two demountables which would give more room in each and allow for extra toilets and showers

Liked: Pitch sizes were great, access to water points and electric hooks spot on. Great space between each pitch, we were in pitch no9.
Quiet and peaceful field it was lovely.

Disliked: The shower block were porter cabins, which I have no problem with but for 3 days one of the ladies of cubicles had no loo roll in. There was no hand soap and no paper towels to dry your hands.

The shower cubicle didn’t look very clean.
No squeezy mop to clean up the shower area either once it had been used. In the colder months it would be absolutely freezing.

The bin in the ladies didn’t have a lid on it either so grossed my daughter out as you can see everything in it.

Can’t comment on the gents.
Luckily we had our tourer so was self sufficient but I really wouldn’t have wanted to use them.

We didn’t eat at the pub so can’t comment on the food. Went out into Tewkesbury to explore.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: The friendliness of everyone. I cannot fault anything. The staff were lovely, very attentative to us and especially our dog. They had a few in that night! The food is awesome, portions and taste excellent, no room for pudding! The other guests were pleasant and open to sharing other places to camp, being we're new to the campervan life! The toilet facilities were good. Clean. I used the ladies shower. Again no issues. Water hot! WiFi in the camp area very slow the only minor negative. Have already recommended to go back with friends. Spaces between pitches good.

Local attractions

Over in Tewkesbury, begin with an amble alongside the River Severn or opt for a boat trip along the Avon; then head to the town’s most famed landmark, the 900-year-old Tewkesbury Abbey, and have yourself a heritage wander around its walking trails. The Pepperpot in Upton is also a topping option as an historic highlight, as are Hartlebury Castle and the cathedrals at Worcester and Gloucester, all within easy driving distance. The area plays host to lots of festivals and events throughout the year too; if you’re in the area in July, make sure you check out Tewkesbury’s famed Medieval Festival, where thousands from all over get together for Europe’s biggest annual medieval reenactment: let the merriment commence and the mead flow forth. Elsewhere, this top Worcestershire spot is a most handy locale for outdoorsy and active adventures: there’s a golf course in Tewkesbury and several horse riding schools are in the area too, plus walking and cycling are popular around the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a short drive away. Severn Ham is also a splendid place for a walk and a bit of wildlife watching: be sure to take a pair of binoculars or even just your camera phone, because you’ll likely want to snap all the critters and birdlife you’ll find around this wild water meadow.
