What customers say
This well-kept, quiet campsite offers a beautiful rural escape, perfect for Peak District exploration. Guests rave about spacious pitches, great views, and farm animals. Staff are consistently friendly & helpful. Facilities are basic & need updating, with limited toilets/showers. Still, most found it good value and would return.

Disliked Kids weren't allowed play ball games

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. It is much appreciated.
If you do stay again please let us know and I will try and sort something for your children to play ball games as I know this is part of going away camping as a family. I for one like to see them playing sports and off the modern devices that kids all seem to be on nowadays.
Iam sorry that this wasn’t the case on your stay.
Excellent site tidy well kept and in a great location
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The site was exactly what was offered in the description and was perfect for rest and relaxation. The facility's were as described basic but more than adequate. David his wife and Patch the dog were great friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back many times as it was perfect for me and Karen Wilf & Skye.
Disliked All the people that moan about the site i don't know what they expect they would be better off at butlins

Powered grass campsite
Liked Campsite was brilliant. Plenty of contact before the trip with advice on where to pitch on arrival. Directions on Pitch Up were accurate and the campsite was easy to find. We had an electric pitch on grass and there was loads of room for our tent and car. Grass was lovely and short and clearly well maintained. Views were stunning across the Peak District. Facilities are basic but clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend using the campsite and would camp here again.

Liked Lovely location with fantastic views, great base to many villages and towns, peaceful and quiet and well maintained. Water and electric on every pitch.
Disliked The toilet and shower facilities were basic and could do with some updating.

It's a good spot to stay if your happy with the roughing it life.
Powered grass campsite
Liked Small site and so not many people about. The tent pitches are large, and have fresh water by them.
Bathroom facilties and cleaning area are cleaned regularly to a high standard.
Disliked Bathroom facilities are small, with only 1 shower (that is effected by others running water) and three toilets.
Dogs are welcome but have to remain on their leads at all times (no chance for a game of fetch), as I was told by the owner (when my dog slipped the collar)

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately we don’t have the facilities for dogs to be safely let of the lead.
We have to consider everybody on the site adults and children. It is not safe or responsible to allow dogs to be of the lead.
Also the campsite is situated in a very rural setting with livestock surrounding it. Unfortunately not every dog is under control whilst being of the lead.
We wouldn’t want our own or other local farmers livestock worried by dogs as this is our livelihood
Maybe moving forward this is something we can look into providing a secure dog pen.
Thank you again for your feedback.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write you review with plenty of feedback.
However it seems you was more unhappy about having to pay extra for the children that you hadn’t paid for.
We always welcome constructive criticism but when it comes to negative feedback due to being pulled up on extra people we would rather people not come to our site if they feel the need they don’t have to pay for what they have.
We run the site as a business to support our own family not for people to come for a free holiday.
If this comment upsets people we would rather they didn’t come.
We have a lot of lovely people on our site but unfortunately in life there is always them that think they don’t have to pay and feel the need to leave in unreasonable reviews based on nothing.
