View from the site

  • Peaceful seaside site by the beach on the east coast of Asturias
  • Spectacular views of the sea and coast
  • Beachside bar-restaurant with local, international and tapas menus
Yep... you'll reckon you could paz some time here all right. The views at Camping La Paz, near Llanes in Asturias, are all pretty smashing ones of the Spanish coast and the clear blue sea – and as pitches are spread across several terraces and levels, there's plenty of them to go round (no fighting for the coveted field-edge spot here). And a location right by the beach is pretty smashing too – a good chunk of that gorgeous outlook is of Vidiago beach, a mere couple of minutes' stroll from this peaceful coastal site. Trot down the short footpath to hit the beach for swims, sand loafing and rockpooling, or stick around on site to admire from above. The beach-view bar-restaurant is the place for that: soak up the Spanish sun from the bar terrace while sampling bites from the local, tapas and international menus. Planning a picnic, a barbecue or an evening round the campfire? Pick up all the necessaries from the site's supermarket, stocked with groceries, newspapers and kit for beach and camping. If you're to hole up here for a while (as is surely tempting…) you'll perhaps need a bit of clean kit; take care of that at the laundry room, which is fitted out with washing machines, tumble dryers and ironing boards. Other amenities include a motorhome service point and four toilet and shower blocks – because not having to stand in a loo queue is also pretty smashing…

What customers say

Spectacular cliff-side spot with awesome sea views & beach access. Well-terraced, decent-sized pitches, often with great vistas. Friendly staff, very clean toilets/showers. On-site cafe/restaurant serves good food with excellent views. Can be busy in high season; some pitch access is steep.

Power optional grass motorhome site

Liked Tiene unas vistas espectaculares.

Power optional grass tent site

Power optional grass tent site

Personal amable y dispuesto a ayudar.

Power optional grass tent site

Liked It is in an absolutely gorgeous spot. You're surrounded by mountains, fields and have two beaches to visit. The one has rock pools at low tide and the other is mostly used for the surf school.
We were able to park our sleeper van and attach our tent on a very nice grassy pitch.
One of the girls' toilets has a lovely view.
It's an easy walk to the nearby village.

Disliked Too many people, too close together. If there's a bit of green, there's a tent. This meant that at high tide the swimming beach was very busy and the restroom facilities were always busy. They were mostly clean but having to walk through the showers to the toilets seemed to create damp footprints everywhere.
This was our only campsite that didn't really feel like it was for families. Not to say you won't have a good time but it seems to be the place where young adults and teens go to film for their socials. Twice we had to make way for this when we just wanted to get somewhere. Even in the bathrooms I had girls take over the sink area with their facial paraphernalia.
Finally, the checkout should have been easy but for some reason I had to repeat everything that was written on my check-in receipt.

Power optional grass tent site

Local attractions

The east of Asturias is known for its tiny old-fashioned villages, its cliffs and its beaches, so get in the car or hire a scooter and get to its small caves, coves and sandy beaches. Nudist beaches are also available nearby for those who don't like returning home with tell-tale tan lines. Stacks of other top Spanish attractions and activities are within easy driving distance here too. Give your hiking boots or mountain bike a good workout on the hilly trails of the Picos de Europa National Park (an hour away), or take a more gentle wander around the very viewsome town of San Vicente de la Barquera (15 minutes' drive). Sticking to the scenic coastline, it's worth meandering through the medieval centre of Llanes (15 minutes) before flopping on one of its sandy beaches, or taking in the prehistoric daubings at Ribadesella's Rock Art Center of Tito Bustillo (half an hour) before… sí, more beach flopping. Foodies (and wine-ies) will also find this area fabulous: there's loads to taste, but suggestions to start off with include the local stews, rice puddings, saffron and cheese, all washed down with a flagon of the region's famed cider.
