There's nothing quite like a long lazy stay on the Costa Brava when it's time to press that reset button. With that in mind, here’s WeCamp Cala Montgó, a friendly site just outside L'Escala that's set up for relaxing in the open air. Within an easy 500-metre walk of two different beaches and with a spacious outdoor pool of its own, this top-tier Catalan site scores extra points for its wide range of activities to keep the kids entertained while grownup guests kick back for a few hours… There's a truly impressive range of leisure facilities on offer here, with family-friendly on-site pursuits like miniature golf plus an amusement arcade, play area, multisport pitch and seasonal kids' club. On top of that, there's more than 1,200 square metres of wildlife-packed pine forest to play in and a dedicated kids' pool. For further inspiration and advice on what to get up to away from base, get chatting to the friendly staff at reception for the low-down on where to windsurf, sail, snorkel or scuba dive in Montgó and further afield on the Costa Brava. For eats and drinks, this site comes with a restaurant and bar, a well-stocked grocery shop and barbecue facilities. Liked: Generous sized pitches under shade of pine trees. Only a 5 mins walk from a blue flag beach.

Disliked: Considering the season hasn’t started yet and only a few campers around, the toilet block was never clean. Can only imagine what happens when it gets busy. Out of the two soap dispensers in the ladies shower block, one was broken and the other without soap.

Le magasin a proximité à prix très raisonnable .
La piscine asser grande plus une pataugeoire les abord de la piscine c'est de l'herbe toujours en contacte avec la nature.
Le personnel réactif serviable et aimable ils parlent le français anglais......

Disliked: Pas bien éclairer à plusieurs reprises je me suis tordue la cheville le soir dans le noir on ne voit pas le sentier et il y a des trou
Le sentier privé qui mène à la plage au début c'est un sentier de terre après c'est du sable déguelace avec des morceaux de bois et branches des crottes de chiens impossible de retirer ses chaussures au risque de vous blesser ou vous salir les pieds pas le choix de marcher dans du sable avec des chaussures se qui n'ai pas évident il faut mieux prendre la route.
La barrière fermé à 00h00 pour rentrer au camping malgré que le gardien est la il vous ouvre pas vous devez garer votre voiture sur un parking en face du camping et vous devez rentrer à pied dans le noir
La plage belle mais très petite
Les sanitaires pas toujours propres ainsi que la seule et unique machine à laver le linge .
Attention aussi pas de télévision comme c'est une foret de sapins de pin vous capté rien
Attention aucune animation
Le restaurant du camping je sais pas vous dire si c'est bon et correct car nous avons voulu tester mais arrivé sur place on nous a demandé si c'était pour manger sur place nous avons dit que oui on nous a répondu que c'était dans une demi heure donc on sait dit que en n'attendant que nous allions prendre un verre puis 30 seconde après une autre personne est venu nous dire que sa ne serait pas dans une demi heure pour manger mais plutôt dans une heure donc on c'est levé et on n'ai parti manger à l'extérieur du camping et nous sommes plus retourné au restaurant du camping

Local attractions

Within a kilometre from base, guests have access to part of Montgrí natural park (five minutes' walk), a well-preserved stretch of coastline full of wildlife. There's also Cala Montgó (five minutes' walk), an impressively round cove with clear turquoise waters that's nicely sheltered from the north wind. Sticking to the L'Escala area, you'll also come across attractions like watersports clubs, boat hire spots and a small museum about the area's anchovies (all within a five-minute drive). A few kilometres up the coast, Empúries (10 minutes) has a spacious sandy beach that's popular with families, plus a well-preserved open-air archeology museum where you can learn about the area's ancient Roman heritage. For more of the past, make for Torroella de Montgrí (25 minutes) and its imposing medieval castle, or check out the Arab baths and Gothic cathedral in Girona (50 minutes). Art fans have lots of choices too, with Figueres' must-see Dalí museum (30 minutes) coming top of many visitors’ itineraries. You might also like to head out to Cadaqués on the Cap de Creus peninsula (an hour), where Dalí and many other artists have lived, worked and played over the years.
