Your own little place by the sea? The cosy coastal cottages at Europarcs Schoneveld are only about 200 metres from the gorgeous four-kilometre beach in the Zeeland harbour town of Breskens, so you’ll be able to stroll in the sand dunes or settle in for some sunbathing whenever you fancy it…
This location isn’t all about the beach though – as it’s just on the edge of town, it’s peaceful but also handily placed for shops, restaurants (where you can sample the seafood that this area is famed for) and attractions like the Fisheries Museum, the town’s outdoor artworks and wildlife-spotting boat trips from the harbour. You can also set sail to Vlissingen from the harbour here or take days out across the border in Ghent or Bruges.
Sea a little bit chilly for your liking? Not to worry – there’s an indoor pool back at the park, where you can have a proper swim or join in with an aqua zumba class. Other facilities on site include a bowling alley, a wellness area with sauna and sunbed, and several play areas (one of which has an air trampoline for the kids to bounce on). You can rent bikes and e-choppers on site too, and in summer there’s an activities programme laid on for the kids.
Accommodation at Europarcs Schoneveld is in self-contained cottages, which each have their own bathroom and mini kitchen. There’s a mini market on site for ingredients to use in that kitchen, along with a snack bar and an Italian-style restaurant for those times when you don’t fancy cooking.

- Bookings must not be for more than 21 consecutive nights.
- Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
- Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
- No gas barbecues allowed.
- No charcoal barbecues allowed.

Local attractions
The beach in Breskens may well be the place where you spend most of your time around here, but if you fancy a change of coastal scenery you can set off for Knokke-Heist (half an hour’s drive), a smart resort with lots of luxury shops and art galleries as well as the beach. Alternatively, walk up to the harbour in Breskens to book a boat taking you out in search of seals and porpoises.
To see a bit more of the local landscape, there are lots of walking and bike routes around the surrounding area – ask at reception for a map to find one that’s suitable for your requirements. A little further afield, Het Zwin nature park (half an hour) is a lovely place for an outing among the dunes and salt marshes.
For town time, take the 10-minute ferry ride to Vlissingen to explore the harbour and walk along the country’s longest boulevard, or cross over into Belgium for canal trips in Bruges (45 minutes’ drive) or sample great food and beer among the medieval buildings of Ghent (an hour).
