EuroParcs Poort van Maastricht sure is – there’s an indoor swimming pool that can be transformed into an open-air pool when the weather’s just right, and a football field for a quick friendly match. Here, it’s not just about the Limburg hills – although you’ll be wanting to get out on foot and bicycle to take in the hills, streams and countless caves in the Limburg countryside, for sure. The location also means plenty of scope to explore Burgundian cities and their cosy terraces, art and chic restaurants with classic Burgundy flavours. Maastricht, just 15 minutes’ drive from the site, fits the bill. There’s plenty of history here too – caves, underground tunnels and old city walls – and it’s a top spot for shopping or sniffing out cultural sites. While there are plenty of cosy terraces in Maastricht, you might want to pick a shady spot in EuroParcs Poort van Maastricht to unwind.   • Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
  • Reception is unmanned after 5 p.m.. Please inform the campground while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time so that the team can provide information about your unit/site.
  • No gas barbecues allowed.
  • No charcoal barbecues allowed.

Great organised, tidy site with top-notch facilities like a heated indoor pool and modern loos. Pitches usually decent size. Staff always friendly & helpful. Handy for Maastricht & dog walks. Some found pitches a bit close/private, shop range limited or WiFi patchy, but overall a top holiday.

Liked Good location within an easy bike ride of Maastricht. Good options for food in the town, unfortunately the onsite restaurant wasn’t open on our first night. Good pitch with plenty of space around us. Good WiFi connectivity. Good heated indoor swimming pool.

Liked Was great from the minute we booked in, the reception staff were very friendly which was really good.
The site was clean and we had a good size pitch, the facilities were great with restaurant and bar plus the local town close with a shop and a few eateries, plus local bus to Maastricht was right outside, will definitely be back.

Disliked The bins were overflowing and only recycle glass, I'm surprised there isn't more.

Liked klein aber fein. Gut für unsere Zwecke.
Wir hatten zu wenig und kleine Küchenutensilien - haben auf Nachfrage direkt neue Sachen bekommen. Top.

Disliked Manche Bewohner waren sehr laut am Abend und wenig rücksichtsvoll - dafür können die Betreiber nichts, wäre vielleicht gut, wenn abends noch eine Kontrolle ist.
Die Lichter vor den Zelten sind etwas störend, weil nachts hell im Zelt - ist vllt eine persönliche Sache ;)

Liked Good and clean showers and toilets. Good bikes to rent.

Disliked The ground is very hard to put legs in. Small area per tent and between caravans. The small swimming pool has poor ventilation, uncomfortable in warm days. Need open roof for warm days.

With so many caves in Maastricht and the countryside, bump Gemeentegrot (five minutes' drive) to the top of your to-do list. Just a 20-minute bike ride or a five-minute drive away, these limestone caves were mined by the Romans and there’s an underground train that will take you into their former territory. What other caves might you want to descend upon? Over the Meuse river, Fort Sint Pieter Maastricht Underground (15 minutes) is a system of caves, tunnels and an 18th-century hillfort. During the war, many took refuge in the Casemates tunnels at the Kazematten Waldeck Maastricht Underground (15 minutes) too. When you’re not exploring this underground world, marvel at the works of art in one of Limburg's leading art museums, the Bonnefanten museum (10 minutes), or catch a show at the Theater aan het Vrijthof (15 minutes). There’s a splendid view of a marl quarry and the surrounding hills after a climb to Uitzichtpunt Sint Pietersberg (15 minutes) – just the thing for those who can’t pass up a good hike.
