  • Quiet terraced pitches at a small site overlooking the Prosecco hills
  • On the edge of the village of Miane, around an hour's drive to Venice
  • Kitchen facilities and open-air eating area available on site
Enjoy a glass or two of Prosecco from time to time? You’ll likely appreciate it even more once you’ve stayed at Campeggio Tende Cocodè – this small and simple site on the edge of the village of Miane is surrounded by vineyards and has great views of the Prosecco hills. Pitches here have been cleverly spread across several terraces so that all guests have equally excellent views of the surrounding hills. Facilities have been nicely thought out as well – guests have access to a wifi connection, bathrooms with toilets and showers, and an outdoor eating area with tables, gazebo and barbecue. For a small extra charge you can also book access to the shared kitchen where you can prep snacks or meals to accompany that bottle of wine you picked up nearby. And where might you source that wine? Well, there are several wineries within a few kilometres that will let you visit for tastings and purchases, or you can buy bottles (and other supplies) at the supermarket 20 minutes’ walk away in Miane. Working up a thirst and/or an appetite shouldn’t be a problem around here, as there are lots of options for outings and activities nearby. The area has a good range of walking and mountain bike routes for those who’d like to explore more of the countryside, along with historic sites like the Cistercian Abbey of Saint Mary of Follina and Villa Dei Cedri. You could also add in day trips to Venice and Padua, both of which are a little over an hour away by car.

Local attractions

Bring your walking boots and/or mountain bikes, because there are a lot of great walking and cycling trails to try out in this area. You’ll be able to head up hills and down valleys, or climb higher into the mountains for some stunning views – and rather handily, several routes take you past vineyards and wineries where you can stop in to try out some of the local sparkling wines. Plan to spend some time wandering in local villages too – places like Cison di Valmarino (10 minutes’ drive) and Valdobbiadene (20 minutes) are worth visiting. For more heritage visits, try the Cistercian Abbey of Saint Mary of Follina (five minutes), the 17th-century water mill Molinetto della Croda (20 minutes) and a tour of the castle and museum at CastelBrando (10 minutes). For a full day out, there’s always plenty to see and do in Venice (an hour and 10 minutes), and Padua (an hour and 20 minutes) is packed with galleries, churches and museums to explore.
