If easy, breezy seaside days and Italian countryside vibes sound like your idea of bliss, head along to Agriturismo Salos, a family-friendly site 15 minutes’ drive from Torre dell’Orso in Puglia’s Salento region. On an organic farm about 10 minutes’ easy wander through traffic-free pine forest from the nearest beaches, the site’s well placed for peaceful rural stays. Set aside an hour or two (every day) for lazing on sand, splashing in sea and strolling under the sun, or simply commit to unwinding in the quiet surrounds of the family-run farm. Days on site will be soundtracked by the rooster’s morning crow and the song of cicadas, while slow-paced games of ping pong and hours passed reading (or napping) in the shade of the pines can fill afternoons. For food, have one of the breakfasts made with organic farm produce, claim one of the communal barbecues or nip over to the small on-site shop to pick up fruit, veg, pasta and eggs. When the time comes to venture off site, the site team will be more than happy to share their local knowledge, and nearby explores are as handy as hiring a bike on site and pedalling off. There’s plenty within reach that’s worth ticking off the list, starting with Torre Sant’Andrea (five minutes’ drive), a stunning beach with crystal clear waters and views of the famed Le Due Sorelle rock formations.

Liked: Sehr schöner, ruhiger Stellplatz unter Bäumen. Reichlich Toiletten und Duschen vorhanden und vor allen Dingen sauber. Sehr freundliches Personal... das bestellte Brot und Croissants waren sehr lecker!!! Direkter Zugang zum Meer...
Kleiner Tipp: nehmt Autan mit, hier gibt viele Mücken!!!
Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt...

Disliked: Kein warmes Wasser beim Geschirrspülen...

Liked: Die Lage war recht gut.
Der Essensbereich sowie bei der Rezeption war alles sehr gepflegt und schön.

Disliked: Campingplatz sehr laut - unter Tags und in der Nacht. Die Mitarbeiter hat das nicht interressiert. An Entspannung war nicht zu denken.
WLAN funktioniert am Standplatz NICHT! WLAN nur bei der Rezeption - meiner Meinung nach dürfte das somit nicht angegeben werden, denn was hat man denn davon?
Sanitäranlagen alt und nicht besonders gepflegt. Fürs Duschen mit Warmwasser muss extra bezahlt werden.

From the manager: Gentile Manuel, siamo veramente dispiaciuti che le sia rimasto così un cattivo ricordo di noi. Solitamente il nostro campeggio è famoso per essere un posto piacevole e rilassante e soprattutto con il personale sempre presente a risolvere qualsiasi tipo di problema, il problema però deve essere comunicato.
Il wi-fi gratuito è disponibile solo nell’area ufficio, non abbiamo mai garantito il contrario.
I bagni sono stati ristrutturati quest’anno con l’inserimento degli erogatori della carta igienica.
A volte comunicare un problema può aiutare anche a risolverlo.
Sempre disponibili a farle cambiare idea.

Liked: Bello ombreggiato, ragazza all'accoglienza molto gentile, possibilità di prenotare prodotti da forno e comprare frutta/verdura e altre cibarie.
Presenza di doccia fredda gratis, calde a pagamento,bagni e lavatrice a 3€.
Mare raggiungibile dopo passeggiata in pineta anche con bici. Consiglio spiaggia libera sulla sinistra del lido "giro di boa", mare trasparente e caldo.
Ci siamo trovati molto bene :)

Liked: Everything was nice: beautiful, quiet, nearby the sea and close to lots of facilities. Clean, respectful. Gorgeous place. The owners are so kind and friendly and their products are very good. We recommend!

Disliked: Nothing at all. WiFi connection can probably be improved but this is a detail on holidays after all 😉

Local attractions

This may be a countryside site, but it’s well placed for urban days too: it’s 20 minutes’ drive from base to the coastal town of Otranto, where there’s a UNESCO Old Town to explore, a 15th-century castle to tour, and a Byzantine basilica, a palace and an ecological museum to wander around. More extensive urban experiences are within 40 minutes’ drive in the city of Lecce, with days spent visiting museums and cathedrals, strolling the streets of the Old Town, attending concerts or plays at the Roman amphitheatre, and rooting out bargains at the twice-weekly markets. Prefer to stay out in nature? It’s 35 minutes to the WWF-protected Le Cesine nature reserve if spying out butterflies, reptiles and birds appeals, and Bosco e Paludi di Rauccio Natural Regional Park and its rare wild orchids are 45 minutes from base. Excursions to the easternmost point of Italy are a cinch too – it’s just half an hour away. Even closer to hand are the archaeological sites and the Cave of Poetry in Roca Vecchia (about 15 minutes), but longer excursions (50 minutes) to the opposite coast are recommended for explores of the 12th-century island town of Gallipoli and afternoons splashing about in Splash Parco Aquatico.
