It's free, quick and easy!
- Family-friendly beach site on the Adriatic Sea just outside Rimini
- A 40-minute drive from San Marino and 45 minutes from Ravenna
- On-site wifi, laundry room, food shop, play area and restaurant
Both city and sea are well within reach during an escape to Rimini Family Camping Village – the historic centre of Rimini is 10 minutes away by car, while a sandy beach is mere metres from the entrance of this site in Emilia-Romagna.
The park is, more specifically, on the Riviera Romagnola, a popular stretch of coast that attracts sun-seekers, night owls and gelato fans from across Italy and beyond. It’s a prime place for sporty sorts as well: many come to swim at the local beaches in between frolicking at the site's football and volleyball pitches.
There's also a handy dog exercise area to keep four-legged visitors in shape and other perks like evening entertainment are on hand to liven up your hols. A kids' club keeps the bambini occupied, and although many guests at this sociable spot are families, groups of all descriptions are warmly welcomed.
Rimini Family Camping Village ticks a lot of practical boxes too: there's wifi, a laundry room and food shop on site (head into town for larger supermarkets). When it comes to eats, make the most of the sea air and set up a barbecue, or leave the cooking to your hosts and sample homegrown dishes in the on-site restaurant and takeaway instead.

Local attractions
Rimini and its surrounds have culture and seaside entertainment in spades (as well as sunshine much of the year around), while the Emilia-Romagna countryside is home to swish seaside resorts and peaceful hilltop towns.
Start your trip in the centre of Rimini, taking in the cathedral, the Roman bridge and the Piazza Cavour (10 minutes' drive), then tote the tiddlers along to the outskirts for the Italia in Miniatura model village amusement park with its 273 teeny-tiny replicas of recognisable Italian and European buildings as a reward for being so well-behaved (fingers crossed).
Younger travellers will think the watery rides at Aquafan (25 minutes) and the dry-land entertainment at Mirabilandia and Ducati World theme parks (45 minutes) are top too; the beaches around Riccione (25 minutes), meanwhile, also tend to satisfy small fry with their sweeping sandy shores.
Not got any kids with you? That’s an excellent excuse to indulge in more history by roving around Ravenna’s spectacular mosaic-covered basilicas (45 minutes) or setting off for a little country-ticking trip to San Marino, the old hilltop capital of the independent country of the same name (40 minutes).
